BI Product Owner
Faerch Group
Team Purpose
Our BI team connects business needs with data and reporting solutions across Faerch. Working with colleagues across the business, we develop and improve the data platform that supports our work and contributes to Faerch’s purpose of creating true circularity in food packaging.
About Faerch
Faerch is a leading supplier of circular, rigid food packaging with integrated recycling capability. We serve food manufacturers, food service providers, and retailers around the world with our network of state-of-the-art production facilities across Europe and the US. Today, more than 5,400 employees are part of the Faerch Group, which is part of the A.P. Moller Holding.
Working at Faerch means joining a purpose-driven company focused on sustainability and innovation. We invest in your growth and offer a supportive, international environment where people thrive
Your Role
As a BI Product Owner, you will own the journey from business requirement to live BI solution. You will translate needs into clear development tasks, guide developers on business logic, validate results and coordinate releases. With support from the BI Manager, you will gradually take greater ownership of our data platform, reporting and governance.
What We’re Looking For
You combine technical understanding with a strong sense of ownership and clear communication. You enjoy connecting business users and developers, bringing structure to complex requirements and following work through to completion. Curious and constructive, you challenge existing approaches and look for practical ways to improve our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and challenge business requirements, translate them into clear technical tasks, and guide in-house back-end developers on business logic and technical design.
- Own the BI backlog and release planning in Azure DevOps; prioritize with the BI Manager, coordinate internal and external deliveries, and communicate status, risks and decisions.
- Navigate Microsoft Fabric and on-premises SQL Server to validate data and development results in DEV/TEST, and approve changes for release.
- Strengthen platform architecture, governance and data quality; document data definitions, KPI logic and models; manage Fabric workspaces, access and security; and optimize capacity usage and running costs.
- Create or improve Power BI reports when needed, contribute to semantic models, DAX measures and shared reporting standards, and explore new Fabric capabilities that deliver business value.
- Experience managing a BI solution with end-to-end delivery responsibility—or a senior developer background with the ambition and communication skills to take on broader ownership.
- A relevant degree in IT, data, business analytics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A solid understanding of data warehouse principles and the ability to navigate a warehouse and describe changes clearly to developers.
- Strong SQL skills, hands-on Power BI report development, and experience with data modelling, including star schemas, semantic models and DAX.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and experience monitoring capacity and running costs are advantages.
- Python, requirements handling in Azure DevOps and familiarity with ERP systems such as Infor M3 are useful additional skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Months 1–3: Learn the business, systems and current data platform, and build a deep understanding of our data warehouse framework, processes and governance.
Months 4–5: Deliver your first model changes end-to-end: clarify requirements, brief developers, validate results in TEST and schedule release.
Months 6–12: By month 6, independently own 2–3 deliveries end-to-end. Take over the BI backlog and prioritize new requirements with the BI Manager, and drive at least one platform improvement in architecture, governance or new Fabric capabilities.
After 12 months: Own most new BI requirements end-to-end and continue growing into the primary owner of Faerch’s data platform, supported by the BI Manager and back-end developers.
Meet the Team
You will work with the BI Manager, in-house back-end developers and the wider BI team, alongside an external BI partner supporting our Fabric warehouse framework. Your collaboration will span Sales, Finance, Production and Supply Chain, as well as IT and source-system owners in global and local functions.
Meet Your Manager
You will report to the BI Manager, who will support you as you build your knowledge of Faerch’s business and data platform. Together, you will prioritize new requirements and gradually expand your ownership of BI delivery and the wider data landscape.
Are you the one we’re looking for?
Do you enjoy turning business challenges into reliable data solutions—and want to take ownership from the first conversation to a successful release? We would like to hear from you.
