Fulfilment Operations Team Leader – IKEA Odense (Fixed-Term Position)
IKEA
We are looking for a dedicated, structured and development-oriented Fulfilment Operations Team Leader to join IKEA Odense. You are passionate about leadership, optimising logistics processes and achieving results through people.
This is a fixed-term position consisting of two exciting assignments. You will initially join our Outbound team, focusing on outgoing online orders, before transitioning to our Inbound team, where the focus will be on incoming goods flow. This will give you the opportunity to work with two key areas of our logistics operation and contribute to creating efficient workflows, high quality standards and great customer experiences.
In both roles, your most important task will be to deliver results through visible leadership, strong collaboration and the continuous development of both employees and processes.
To succeed in this role, it is important that you:
•Have 1–2 years of leadership experience, preferably with a focus on people and team management.
•Are fluent in both Danish and English, written and spoken.
•Are well organised and able to maintain an overview in a busy and changing environment.
•Are motivated by developing people, creating engagement and achieving strong results through your team.
•Have an analytical and solution-oriented approach to operations, processes and optimisation.
•Ideally have experience in logistics – this is an advantage, but not a requirement.
•Ideally hold a forklift licence or are interested in obtaining one.
You must be comfortable working varying hours depending on your area of responsibility. In Outbound, working hours will be flexible between 06:00 and the evening, while in Inbound, working hours will be 04:00–12:00.
A DAY IN YOUR LIFE WITH US
During the first part of the position, from approximately January 2027 to May 2027, you will be the Team Leader of our Outbound operation. Together with your team, you will ensure that our online orders are handled efficiently and dispatched to our customers on time.
From May 2027, you will transition to our Inbound team, where you will cover a maternity leave position. Here, your focus will be on ensuring an efficient and well-functioning inbound goods flow, making sure that goods are handled correctly and on time and are available to the rest of our logistics operation.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
•Leading, developing and motivating a team of approximately 20 employees.
•Ensuring efficient daily operations and a stable flow of outgoing online orders and incoming goods.
•Optimising outflow, workflows and processes, with a focus on productivity, quality and costs.
•Planning and coordinating resources to ensure that operational targets are achieved.
•Creating a culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration.
•Monitoring relevant KPIs, customer satisfaction and operational performance.
•Ensuring employee well-being and actively working with sickness absence and employee retention.
•Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with IKEA's applicable safety rules and procedures.
TOGETHER AS A TEAM
At IKEA Logistics, we play a central role in creating great customer experiences. Every day, we work to ensure that the right products are available, handled efficiently and moved further through the supply chain, always keeping the customer at the centre of everything we do.
We believe there is always room for improvement and that great results are achieved through engaged employees, clear leadership and strong collaboration.
As a Team Leader, you will play an important role in translating our goals into tangible results in everyday operations. You must be able to provide direction for your team, develop employees' skills and ensure that we continuously find new and better ways of working.
