Become a Student Data Engineer in Middle Office Products
Nykredit
The data behind our investment businesses
Middle Office Products is part of Wealth Technology, the IT organization behind Nykredit Wealth & Asset Management. We support its three businesses: Nykredit Portefølje Administration (NPA), Nykredit Asset Management (NAM) and Sparinvest.
We build and maintain solutions for controlling, compliance, risk, performance and reporting, and we own the reporting data foundation for Nykredit Wealth & Asset Management. Much of that data starts in SimCorp Dimension, our core portfolio management system, and moves through the data flows and integrations we build around it. We treat data as a product, and the whole team is responsible for keeping it correct and on time.
A large part of our business-critical work currently runs on Wealth DWH, our data warehouse built on SQL Server, SSIS and stored procedures, with its data modelled in Data Vault. Alongside it, we are building Wealth Data Hub, our new data solution in Microsoft Fabric. Both exist to give the business trusted data products for its daily work.
Data moves through Bronze, Silver and Gold layers in OneLake, is built with dbt and orchestrated through Airflow. We manage code and CI/CD in GitHub, infrastructure in Terraform and monitoring in Grafana.
You will work with both Wealth DWH and Wealth Data Hub, allowing you to understand how our existing solutions were built and how our new approach differs. Along the way, you will learn tools used across the industry, applied to financial services.
You will also become part of the Nykredit Group, where we offer opportunities and development to those who are motivated to learn and contribute. Through our student network, Nykredit Youth, you will be invited to professional talks and social events, giving you the opportunity to connect with other students and young professionals across the Group.
Are you motivated by data engineering and solving problems with code?
Then you may be the Student Data Engineer we are looking for. In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain Wealth Data Hub, from dbt models to Airflow pipelines.
- Help keep Wealth DWH and Wealth Data Hub running day to day, including investigating data quality issues.
- Work on reporting used internally, by customers and by regulators.
- Work with SimCorp Dimension and bring its data into Wealth Data Hub.

Are you the person we are looking for?
We imagine that you:
- Are studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related field.
- Have some experience with Python and SQL through coursework, projects or a student job, and enjoy solving problems with code.
- Take ownership of your tasks and ask for help when needed.
- Question existing practices and bring new ideas.
- Share what you learn and help make the team better.
- Are curious about AI and interested in understanding where it can create value, and where solid engineering and human judgement matter more.
- How to work in a terminal and use Git, if you do not already have experience with it
- The technologies behind Wealth Data Hub, including dbt, Airflow and Microsoft Fabric
- How SimCorp Dimension, wealth management and financial reporting work in practice
