Student Assistant – Regulatory Reporting
Norlys Energy Trading A/S
Do you enjoy working with data, spotting inconsistencies and figuring out why things don't add up? Are you curious about energy trading and looking for a student job where you can put your analytical skills to work? Join our Regulatory Reporting team in Aalborg and get hands-on experience in a complex industry.
Your team
At Norlys Energy Trading (NET), our Regulatory Reporting team uses data to demonstrate that our trading activities comply with energy regulations. It's a complex field, with multiple market participants, extensive regulation, and an ever-changing trading business. We work to make sense of that complexity and ensure our reporting is accurate.
Your role
As our new Student Assistant, you'll help ensure the accuracy of our regulatory reporting. You'll work with transaction data, perform controls, and investigate discrepancies to help us meet our compliance obligations.
You'll also have the chance to improve existing processes and help develop new controls as our trading activities evolve. Along the way, you'll build an understanding of energy trading and the regulations behind it.
Your key responsibilities
You'll work with data quality, reporting controls, and process improvements. Your main tasks will include:
- Perform controls and reconcile transaction data to ensure accurate reporting.
- Investigate discrepancies, document findings, and help resolve issues.
- Understand the transactions and regulatory requirements behind the data.
- Help define new controls as NET enters new markets and trades new products.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes by asking questions and challenging existing ways of working.
You'll get to work with real trading data and see how your work supports our regulatory compliance. There's plenty to learn, and you don't need to know the energy industry beforehand. If you're curious, thorough, and enjoy figuring things out, you'll feel right at home in this role.
– Morten Møller Jakobsen, Manager, Regulatory Reporting
