Are you passionate about making responsible AI work in practice? At Novonesis, we use the power of biology to help solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges. As our new Principal AI Governance Analyst, you will take a leading role in shaping practical and scalable AI governance across our global organization.
About the team:
You will join Data & AI Enablement, part of the Data Office within Global IT. The team acts as a Centre of Excellence for enterprise-wide data and AI enablement, with colleagues in Denmark and India.
We work closely with teams across the business to enable value creation with technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Copilot and Copilot Studio. Our focus spans enablement, governance and community building, helping teams use data and AI responsibly and effectively.
This is a highly collaborative environment where you will work across functions, geographies and areas of expertise, including Legal, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, IT Compliance and business teams.
Your role:
As Principal AI Governance Analyst, you will own and continuously mature the operational foundation for AI governance at Novonesis.
You will connect regulatory expectations, technology and business needs, creating governance that is robust enough to manage risk while practical enough to support responsible experimentation and adoption.
A key part of your impact will be bringing specialists and decision-makers together, creating clarity around complex questions and turning agreements into sustainable ways of working.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and continuously improve our AI governance framework, standards and supporting documentation.
- Translate regulatory requirements, particularly the EU AI Act, into practical internal standards, processes and controls in collaboration with Legal Compliance.
- Support the practical assessment of AI solutions and use cases, coordinating relevant risk, security and compliance assessments and helping teams navigate the governance process and requirements needed for initiatives to move forward.
- Define governance approaches for AI platforms and tools and coordinate risk and security assessments with relevant functions.
- Run the operating rhythm of AI governance, including governance forums, decision-making, documentation and structured follow-up.
- Drive and maintain an enterprise catalogue of AI systems and solutions including classification criteria and related transparency and documentation requirements.
- Develop practical guidelines that enable AI to scale responsibly, covering areas such as sharing and reuse of AI solutions and agents, access, ownership, cost considerations and other operational governance need as they emerge.
- Own AI usage monitoring and reporting initiatives, establishing transparency on AI adoption and usage and providing insights to support governance, prioritization and decision-making.
- Significant experience within governance, risk, compliance, quality management, data governance or another structured and process-driven discipline.
- Working knowledge of the EU AI Act and relevant AI, risk or governance frameworks. Deep legal expertise is not required.
- A practical understanding of AI and enterprise IT enables you to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, security specialists and business stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating recurring governance forums or committees and turning discussions into clear decisions and follow-up.
- Experience maintaining controlled documentation, registries, inventories or similar governance structures over time.
- An academic background in areas such as law, compliance, risk management, information management, engineering or computer science, or other experience that has provided you with relevant capabilities for the role.
