Intraday Power Trader

Are you an experienced power trader who enjoys making decisions in fast-moving markets? Would you like to take responsibility for your own trades while working alongside colleagues who share your interest in intraday power trading?

Join our IDE Proprietary Trading team at Norlys Energy Trading in Aalborg. Here, you will use your trading experience to identify opportunities, act on market developments, and contribute to the team's trading activities.

Your team and role

You will join a team of experienced traders working in the intraday power market. The role combines market analysis, trade execution, and risk management with the development of trading strategies.

The desk operates around the clock, and you will be part of our 24/7 shift rotation. You will work independently on trading decisions while exchanging market insights and ideas with colleagues across shifts.

Your key responsibilities

• Analyse market data and price movements to identify trading opportunities.
• Develop and execute intraday trading strategies.
• Monitor positions, manage risk, and respond to changing market conditions.
• Collaborate with traders, analysts and quantitative teams to challenge market views, share insights, and improve trading strategies and decision-making.
• Contribute to improving trading tools, models and processes in collaboration with relevant teams to strengthen analytical capabilities and trading efficiency.
• Coordinate with colleagues across shifts to ensure continuity in trading activities.
• Maintain relationships with relevant market participants and stakeholders.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced trader who combines sound market judgement with the ability to act independently and contribute to a team.

You bring:

• Experience in energy trading, preferably within intraday power.
• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of trading strategies and risk management.
• The ability to make well-founded decisions under pressure.
• Good communication skills and an interest in sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• A relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field.

You should be comfortable working in a 24/7 shift rotation and ready to apply your trading experience from an early stage.
