Health and Safety Manager
Siemens Energy
Are you passionate about health, safety and environmental management and the green transition? As Health and Safety Manager in Projects, you play a significant role in our electrical substation projects for offshore wind farms, Power-to-X and energy transmission. Health and safety is in your hands across the full project lifecycle – from tender and order, through execution on site, until the project is handed over to Services or the client. Projects run from one to several years, and depending on their size and complexity, two to five of them will be in your portfolio at the same time. Acting as HSE advisor and business partner to project managers and leadership, you are part of project discussions and meetings from the start, so safety is built in by design rather than added at the end. Out on site, close collaboration with site teams and site management keeps risks under control and our Zero Harm culture alive every day.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- From tender to handover, you lead all HSE activities in your projects, including HSE planning, the project HSE plan and the health and safety documentation
- Safety by design is central to the role, bringing health and safety into project discussions and meetings from day one
- As HSE advisor and business partner to Project Managers and leadership teams, you support proactive risk management and safe project execution
- On site, risk assessments must be in place – you carry out audits, inspections and safety walks, with the authority to stop work when conditions are unsafe
- Incidents, near misses and environmental events are investigated and followed up using root cause analysis, while HSE performance is tracked through KPIs and trends
- Compliance with HSE legislation, customer requirements and Siemens Energy standards is ensured across subcontractors and suppliers, in dialogue with customers, authorities and certification bodies
- Through training, inductions and visible safety leadership, you drive our Zero Harm culture and share lessons learned across projects
- At least 5 years of experience in health, safety and environmental management from large infrastructure or building projects
- Certification as Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator (Arbejdsmiljøkoordinator P and B)
- An ISO 45001 Auditor Certificate
- A technical background, preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Strong collaboration skills across professions, departments and borders – reaching out and talking to many people every day, locally and globally, comes naturally to you
- Energy and drive for a busy, varied workday where tasks are solved together with project managers, site managers and technical project managers
- Good English skills, as English is our company language – Danish is considered a plus
As part of our Operational Excellence and QHSE team in Ballerup, you will work most closely with two HSE Managers and a work environment engineer – four of you in total. In each project, the project team brings together project managers, technical project managers, contract managers, project planners, engineers, site managers and more, located in Denmark and across Siemens Energy globally. Siemens Energy in Denmark is also home to our global competence centre for complete offshore high-voltage systems that connect offshore wind farms to the onshore grid, serving wind farm owners, shipyards and EPCs worldwide. Some travel is expected for site audits, inspections and supplier audits in Denmark and abroad, always coordinated with your Project Manager and line manager.
