Job description:

The Components Marketing Specialist is part of the Nordic & Baltic marketing team and works closely with the other team members on activities that build awareness and grow the business for OMRON's Sensor & Components ranges.

The position can be located in Køge (DK), Malmö, Stockholm (SE), Oslo (NO) or Espoo (FI).

Role context:

  • Works closely with the Nordic and local Strategic Partner Managers on the development of OMRON's distribution partners
  • Acts as local product owner for assigned Sensor & Components ranges and is accountable for their performance in the local markets.
  • Works with the Nordic organizations Country Sales Managers to plan and deliver product training, sales tools and digital tools for direct and distributor sales teams.
  • Is in regular contact with customers and prospects to gather market feedback and share product knowledge.
  • Reports market feedback, product performance and customer requirements to the Product Marketing Managers (ePMMs) and strategic customers, following the agreed processes.

Purpose of the Job:

The Components Marketing Specialist drives awareness, demand and sales of OMRON's Sensor & Components ranges through both the Distribution channel and direct sales.

  • Contributes to the development of yearly activity plans with distribution partners and is responsible for their implementation.
  • Plans and runs, targeted product campaigns that generate customer engagement and measurable demand.
  • Equips direct and distributor sales teams with the tools, content and product knowledge needed to engage Sensor and Components customers and prospects effectively.
  • Works directly with customers and partners to demonstrate product capabilities, provide technical guidance and support product adoption.
  • Conducts local market research and stays in close contact with the market to track new developments, using these insights to strengthen the commercial performance of the NSCs.

Accountability

Market Research:

  • Define market potential for the assigned Sensor & Components groups or market via market analyses, trends, product positioning strategies and product commercialisation.
  • Proactively provide internal and external “local” product support in aspect of product launch support, promotions & project review, product training.
  • Provide and distribute market intelligence information through reports, articles and analyses.

Product Management:

  • Provide and maintain business development initiatives through analysis and strategic planning assigned component product groups.
  • Professional interface from technical and commercial point of view between the Marketing Team and the Sales force and maintain and improve the information transfer.
  • Proactively provide internal and external “local” product support in aspect of product launch support, promotions & project review, product training, deployment of campaign, product portfolio maintenance, etc.
  • Thought Leadership spokesperson & local events speaker

Product Knowledge development:

  • Ensuring Sales and Services & Solution teams maintain sufficient commercial knowledge for promoting OMRONs Sensor & Components effectively.
  • Provide and develop commercial training- and materials for OMRON Sensors & Components.

Requirements and skills

  • Technical Bachelor (HBO) Engineering or higher (preferably industrial engineering).
  • Marketing and digital marketing knowledge (having completed at least some specialized course or professional experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in international and multicultural environments, and teamwork.
  • Good commercial and technical understanding.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Robust technical foundation and a strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience working with Nordic distributors/wholesalers
  • Fluent English skills (spoken and written) are mandatory, alongside one Nordic language.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, passionate, and thoughtful.
  • Target and result oriented.
