Are you an experienced Team Leader – or a Senior Java Engineer ready to take the next step into people-leadership? As a Team Leader for our Java Core team, you will lead four software engineers and two student engineers while being an active part of the team yourself - we call it a hands-on Team Leader. You will stay close to technology and contribute to the solutions we build.
AI is changing software development rapidly, and you will play an important role in shaping how we use AI-assisted and agentic software development while ensuring that quality, security and strong engineering principles remain at the core.

In this role, people-leadership and technical expertise go hand in hand. You will lead, support, and develop the Java Core team while also making hands-on technical contributions. You will actively participate in technical discussions, contribute to the development work, and help shape how we approach AI-assisted development across our Java environment.
You will also join a leadership community of 12 leaders across the department, giving you the opportunity to exchange perspectives, learn from experienced colleagues, and collaborate on both technical and people-related challenges.

WHAT YOUR NEXT JOB WILL BE ABOUT
Your tasks and responsibilities in the job include:
- Leading, supporting and developing the Java Core Team
- Providing technical guidance and contributing directly to the team’s engineering work, including design, development, and problem-solving
- Remaining actively involved in the team’s daily work while balancing hands-on contribution with leadership responsibilities
- Exploring how AI can support software development, improve engineering processes, and create new opportunities
- Supporting the thoughtful adaptation of AI while maintaining a strong focus on quality, security, and sound engineering practices
- Collaborating across different teams and working closely with the platform teams
- Implementing JYSK’s leadership principles, focusing on goal orientation and accountability.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING
We are looking for a new colleague who:
- Has solid professional experience in software development and strong knowledge of Java technologies
- Is motivated by leading, supporting and developing software engineers
- Can combine technical leadership and people leadership while remaining an active part of the team
- Has strong communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoys collaborating across teams
- Has hands-on experience building and scaling an agentic Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and is curious about how AI can improve software development and engineering practices
- Ideally have experience with AI-assisted or agentic software development
- Takes responsibility, provides direction and creates an environment where colleagues can contribute and develop
