Domain Architect

We are moving away from traditional product and application teams and establishing Domain Teams with end-to-end ownership across their entire domain landscape, including build, buy, SaaS, customized, and supplier-delivered solutions.
To support this transformation, we are looking for a Domain Architect who believes architecture belongs where decisions are made: close to delivery, business needs, and real-world implementation.
Your Role
As a Domain Architect, you will act as the Application Owner IT (AOI) for your assigned domain. You will be embedded within domain delivery teams, ensuring architecture is not a separate governance function but an integrated part of daily decision-making and solution delivery.
Working closely with business owners, development teams, and stakeholders, you will help shape solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on technical involvement.
What You'll Do
- Act as AOI across your domain, covering the entire solution lifecycle
- Drive the micro-architecture within the domain and support technical direction
- Ensure alignment with SOS International’s macro architecture principles, standards, and governance
- Work closely with delivery teams on day-to-day design and implementation decisions
- Support multiple teams within a domain as part of a scalable operating model
- Contribute directly to development activities when relevant (approximately 20% of your time)
- Foster clear ownership and accountability across the entire domain landscape
- Promote domain-driven thinking and well-defined architectural boundaries

What Success Looks Like - In this role, you will help ensure that:
- Ownership is clear across the entire domain scope
- Architectural decisions are made within empowered domain teams
- Architecture becomes a natural part of delivery rather than a review activity
- Solutions evolve consistently across systems, platforms, and vendors
- Teams can move fast while maintaining architectural integrity
- Have experience as a Solutions Architect, Domain Architect, or similar architectural role
- Bring a strong software engineering and hands-on development background
- Enjoy working closely with delivery teams and technical practitioners
- Can balance architecture, implementation, and business priorities
- Thrive in collaborative environments where influence is more important than hierarchy
- Have a passion for turning architectural principles into practical outcomes
- Understand how to create alignment without slowing innovation
As part of Group Architecture & Security, you will report directly to the Head of Architecture & Security, Nicolai Guido Klausen, and play a key role in driving architectural standards, best practices, and consistency across SOS International.
At the same time, your day-to-day work will be embedded within domain delivery teams, where you will actively participate in the decisions that shape our solutions and services.
