Do you combine commercial drive, operational leadership and a strong understanding of blades? Are you an experienced leader used to lead through managers, create clear directions and drive performance and continuous improvements? And do you want to take a pivotal role in developing a growing business area with significant market potential? Then you might be the next Head of Blades at Global Wind Service, working from the company headquarters in Fredericia, Denmark, or from Szczecin, Poland.
Turning operational performance into profitable growth
Reporting to the Director of Service & Blades, you will be responsible for the development and performance of the blade business, with direct leadership responsibility for project management and resource management. The blade business is supported by a strong international technician base working across multiple markets. Leading through managers, you will ensure the organisation has the right structure, capabilities and resources to deliver safely, efficiently and the required quality. You will proactively strengthen project preparations and project execution, resource utilisation and financial performance, while reducing complexity, cost and project risk. Working closely with sales and customers, you will identify new opportunities, understand customer needs and create additional business through relevant service solutions. You will drive consistent ways of working, use data and digitalisation to improve decisions, and work with integrated planning to build the capabilities and capacity needed for growth. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the blade organisation through managers and developing a strong, accountable team
- Driving safe, efficient and predictable project execution through clear standards and continuous improvement
- Identifying additional market opportunities, developing business cases and creating customer value
- Improving margins, resource utilisation and business performance through data-driven decisions
- Building the capabilities and capacity needed for future growth
Joining Global Wind Service, you will become part of a highly dynamic and international organisation with the opportunity to shape the continued development of a significant business area. You will work closely with colleagues, customers and functions across international markets. The position involves approximately 20-30 days of international travel per year.
Technical blade expertise combined with strong commercial skills
You hold a relevant degree within business, operations, engineering or a related field. Project management qualifications are an advantage. The position requires a seasoned blade manager with solid operational experience from blade projects, ideally covering field execution, repair activities, workforce planning, quality performance and customer delivery. Strong experience from blade operations is therefore highly valued, while experience from wind field services, composite repair or other complex technical service environments is also relevant. You understand both the technical and operational realities of blade work and can translate this insight into stronger execution, better commercial decisions and meaningful input to the future blade strategy. You have experience from an international, project-based and matrix organisation and combine operational depth with a strategic perspective and strong commercial understanding, including contracts, risk and business development. As a person, you are structured, pragmatic and performance-oriented, challenge existing ways of working and communicate clearly. Finally, you are fluent in spoken and written English.
