Head of Discipline - Power Supply

COWI

Do you want to turn strategy into action, inspire people, and lead with purpose? Can you translate goals into clear direction and build an engaged, collaborative team? And do you want to play a key role in advancing rail electrification in Denmark? Then you might be our new Head of Discipline for Power Supply.

Create the solutions that enable a better tomorrow
We are seeking a Head of Discipline for Power Supply to lead our skilled team of 20 colleagues. As part of the Rail leadership team within Transportation, you will work closely with other Heads of Discipline to develop our people, strengthen our capabilities, and deliver complex projects.
Together with our clients, we deliver some of the most impactful rail infrastructure projects in Denmark, including the Danish electrification programme, future S-trains in Copenhagen, and a diverse portfolio of both major and local rail projects. Our work supports railway electrification, traction power systems, catenary systems, and power supply solutions that contribute to the modernisation and green transition of the Danish railway sector.
In this role, you will support both people development and project success while ensuring that engagement, well-being, and inclusion remain at the heart of your leadership.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the discipline on a day-to-day basis, including 1:1s, recruitment, and onboarding activities
  • Support the Resource Manager in workforce planning
  • Work closely with the Head of Engineering to set the direction for the discipline, including clear targets for performance and employee development
  • Be responsible for promoting employee engagement and encouraging a productive, diverse, and inclusive culture
  • Be involved in projects as a technical lead within your area of expertise
  • Oversee the Power Supply agenda within Rail and collaborate with the business development team to build and grow the discipline

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
Like us, you believe that leadership success comes from setting a clear and meaningful direction for your team and supporting them in being responsible for their work. You always delegate responsibility and ensure an open and safe dialogue, and you coach your people to achieve their aspirations through constructive, fact-based feedback. Attracting and developing a diverse group of high-potential team members is at the top of your agenda, as is creating an inclusive, supportive and trusting culture in your team.

On top of that, you will have:

  • People management experience as either project manager or line manager
  • Solid experience with railway projects, either as infrastructure owner, supplier, contractor or consultant.
  • Experience within rail electrification, traction power, power supply systems or related electrical infrastructure.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish.
