SALES MANAGER, DENMARK
Cactos
The push to electrify society and decarbonize energy generation intensifies but risks hitting a wall: electricity grids are not able to meet surging power requirements from data centers, fast charging and new industrial capacity. The need for a smart, resilient electricity grid is more critical than ever. A key enabler of this transformation are Battery Energy Storage Systems or BESS’, which absorb imbalances between intermittent renewable production and unpredictable consumption and pave the way towards a cleaner, electric future.
Cactos is Finland’s market leader in industrial-scale BESS, with over 450 sites installed and operating across the country. We entered the Swedish market in 2025, and just won a landmark deal that will make Denmark our second-largest market in terms of installed capacity. We want to strike while the iron is hot and strengthen Cactos' commercial team to meet growing BESS demand in Denmark.
About The Role
As Sales Manager, Denmark, you will play a pivotal role in further accelerating the expansion of Cactos in Denmark, but also Southern Sweden. You will handle inbound inquiries and discover opportunities worth pursuing, actively prospect new customers, and leverage your network to identify new opportunities. You will help customers navigate the different phases of complex sales cycles, from initial discussions until successful closure. Along the way, you will pull various Cactos experts to support you in discussions about ancillary markets, installation feasibility, building permits, fire safety or whatever sidequests are thrown at you by local authorities. You will also build or leverage existing relationships with potential sales partners, installers and resellers.
What We’re Looking For
We expect you to have relevant experience in the energy industry, a proven track record of successfully closing complex deals, a strong drive to create tangible results, enthusiasm for independent prospecting, strong relationship-building skills, an eye for detail in customer communications and CRM data management alike, and a passion to learn from and shape this rapidly evolving industry. Additionally, existing networks and deep understanding of relevant industrial sectors such as logistics, charge point operators, data centers, sawmills or other heavy electricity users are clear advantages. You are fluent in Danish and English, and it doesn’t hurt if you also speak Swedish and/or Norwegian. You are socially skilled and enjoy team work but have the necessary entrepreneurial mind to build your own pipeline. Expect regular travel within Denmark and occasional travel to Finland and other Nordic countries.
Why Join Us?
At Cactos, you’ll be part of a world-class team on the cutting edge of the energy transition. Cactos is a fast-growing Finnish company that designs, manufactures, and operates the world’s smartest battery energy storage systems. Founded in 2021, the company currently has over 100 employees, offices in Helsinki and Kempele, and operations in seven countries.
Cactos BESS units typically help clients reduce their energy costs by shifting electricity consumption to cheaper hours, balancing peak consumption and reducing reactive power, but they can also for instance enable electrification of heavy transport and processes by boosting local grid capacity. Some models provide backup power to protect facilities against blackouts. In addition to these local benefits, BESS units also stabilize the electric grid, allowing further growth of renewable energy production and providing customers access to reserve market and wholesale electricity market revenue. The batteries and the control system that optimizes their operations are offered to corporate clients and investors as a service.
Cactos BESS units are manufactured at the Kempele factory, based on proprietary battery module technology, while all necessary software is developed in Helsinki. Cactos’ commercial team is spread between Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia and the Netherlands.
If you hear the call, please tell us about yourself and pitch your suitability for the role through a resume and cover letter. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and interviews held remotely.
