About The Role
As a Marine Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates in alignment with our core values and strategic goals. You’ll support the Head of Nautical department and the Voyage Execution Manager across a wide range of nautical, Technical and operational areas. This is a unique opportunity to influence safety standards, vessel design, and operational procedures across our global fleet while also being part of developing future Vessel IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support safe and efficient ship management across Fleet Management & Technology (FMT)
- Actively Participate in discovery work for new features and enhancements across StarConnect
- Provide maritime operational insight to help shape concepts, workflows and ensure clearly written storyboards for future developments
- Preparation of user guidelines and SOP
- Provide day-to-day support to vessels and developers regarding application behaviour, data interpretation, and operational scenarios.
- Plan and manage feature StarConnect rollouts to the fleet.
- Monitor and respond to new maritime legislation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Fleet Technology, Cargo Management, and Global Stowage
- Represent company interests with external stakeholders such as flag and port state authorities, industry organizations, and customers
- Initiate lashing equipment stocktaking projects
- Structure new Port Memo system ensuring structure, data governance and integration.
- Ensure Port Memo data is validated and updated
- Nautical procedure review and update.
- Preferable a certified Master Mariner
- Proven leadership experience in maritime operations
- Strong command of maritime technical and nautical terminology
- Detail-oriented mindset with a drive to challenge the status quo
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (both internal and external)
