AI Architect
KPMG Denmark
About KPMG NewTech
KPMG NewTech works with some of Denmark's largest organisations to put AI to work. Our team sits at the centre of this, operating across two areas that go hand in hand: we design and implement AI solutions and transformations, and we help organisations change how they work through AI adoption.
A big part of what makes us different is our NewPractice methodology, our approach to redefining how organisations build AI-native processes from the ground up. It is not about putting AI onto existing ways of working. It is about rethinking work itself.
We are a team that is motivated by learning, works well in changing environments and is accountable. We are growing quickly, and the people joining will have meaningful influence on where we go.
What You Will Be Doing
You will own the technical architecture of our most complex AI engagements. That means designing the platforms, reference architectures, and agent foundations that large organisations build on, and making the architectural calls that decide whether an AI solution scales or stalls.
Microsoft is at the core of what we do, so deep knowledge across the Microsoft AI and data platform is essential. Many of our clients run more than one cloud, so a working view of AWS or Google helps you design for the reality clients actually operate in.
You will sit at the executive table as the person clients trust on AI architecture, and you will set the technical standard for the team. As a Director or Senior Manager you also carry commercial weight: spotting opportunities, shaping proposals, and helping define where we take our AI services next.
A central part of the role is working with AI yourself. We use AI across everything we do, and you will set the standard for the team in how that is done.
In practice, that means:
- Owning the technical architecture of complex AI and agentic solutions, from platform foundations through to production.
- Designing enterprise AI reference architectures on Microsoft Azure (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric) and, where it fits, across AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker).
- Making the architectural calls that matter: platform selection, security, scalability, cost, and integration.
- Being the technical authority that clients trust on AI strategy, platform, and delivery.
- Advising the C-suite and technical leadership on how to build AI capability that lasts.
- Setting the technical standards and patterns for the team and raising the bar on how we build.
- Managing and mentoring architects, engineers, and developers.
- Spotting opportunities, shaping proposals, and helping define where we take our AI services next.
You have 8 or more years of experience, likely from consulting, a senior architecture role, or a similar technical leadership position. You have designed and delivered enterprise AI or data architectures that made it all the way to production, and you are as comfortable in an executive meeting as in a design session.
More specifically, we look for:
- Deep, practical experience with the Microsoft AI and data platform: Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric, and the surrounding services.
- Working knowledge of AWS AI services such as Bedrock and SageMaker, ideally with a view that spans both clouds.
- Experience of designing and delivering AI or data architectures at enterprise scale that reached production.
- A solid grasp of AI security, governance, scalability, and the realities of running AI in regulated environments.
- Comfortable at the executive level, translating deep technical decisions into clear business language.
- Experience leading technical teams and setting architectural direction.
- A commercial instinct: you spot opportunities and help shape the work, not just deliver it.
- Genuinely curious about where AI architecture is heading, agentic systems, and how to build for what is coming.
- Relevant Microsoft and AWS architecture certifications are a plus.
- Fluency in English and Danish.
- A relevant master's degree or above, or equivalent depth of experience.
