Are you an experienced medical leader looking to make a meaningful impact on patient care in Denmark? We are seeking a Country Medical Director (CMD) to lead our Medical Affairs organization and help bring scientific innovation, evidence, and insights closer to patients, healthcare professionals, and the broader healthcare community.
In this role, you will serve as the senior medical leader in Denmark, guiding Medical Affairs strategy across a diverse portfolio and pipeline, while ensuring scientific excellence and patient focus remain at the center of our work.
As a member of the Danish Leadership Team, you will represent the medical perspective in key business discussions, lead a talented Medical Affairs team, and collaborate closely with colleagues across functions, as well as external stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the Medical Affairs (MA) strategy for Denmark, ensuring alignment with global and regional objectives.
- Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAPs) strategically guide the creation and ensure execution of the CMAPs, including tactical deliverables for each therapeutic area.
- Country Leadership Team Represents Medical Affairs and is the “medical voice” in the country executive leadership team.
- Managing High-Performing Medical Affairs Team Build and maintain a highly engaged, innovative, and collaborative MA organization, building trust and fostering professional development within the team.
- Portfolio Management Oversee our diverse portfolio including our growing pipeline products across Oncology, Vaccines and Infective Diseases, Specialty Medicine and Pharma, balancing global and local priorities while managing resources effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration collaborating with various local and regional functions to advocate for the Medical Affairs team’s interests (e.g. Global Clinical Trial Operations, Regional and Global Medical and Scientific Affairs, local commercial and market access organization etc.)
- External Engagement and collaboration with Key Stakeholders Serve as the scientific expert and executive leader, engaging with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, insurers, and policymakers.
- Education MD degree.
- Experience Proven track record in the global biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in clinical development and medical affairs.
- Leadership Skills Strong people-management experience with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams and senior leaders while building strong alignment and partnerships within the organization.
- Analytical Acumen Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable strategies.
- Therapeutic Expertise Deep knowledge in key therapeutic areas of interest, including oncology, infectious diseases, vaccines, cardiometabolic, immunology, ophthalmology, or neurosciences.
- Project management skills with intellectual curiosity and the ability to create a vision as well as execute and lead complex strategic and operational initiatives in matrix structures
- A working knowledge of business processes, including strategic planning and budgeting management
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including ability to set goals and align priorities
- Knowledge of Danish and the Danish Healthcare environment is preferable, but not mandatory
