Key Responsibilities
- Own, implement and continually review Sensori's (or the contract-specific) Electrical Safety Rules, ensuring they remain aligned with current legislation, standards and client requirements.
- Audit the application of the Electrical Safety Rules across projects, closing out findings and driving corrective action.
- Ensure Sensori's Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV and MV systems are correctly applied, and contribute to their development and revision.
- Retain overall responsibility for cover of all systems and installations for which the company has control of the electrical danger.
- Implement and govern maintenance policies for the Technical Services Department.
- Assess the competence of candidates for Authorised Person appointment, and issue, limit, suspend or withdraw authorisations as appropriate.
- Maintain the register of Authorised Persons and Competent Persons, including scope of authorisation and training currency.
- Provide technical support, mentoring and escalation cover to Authorised Persons across the project portfolio.
- Verify that AP-led LOTO processes and procedures are correctly applied on site.
- Review and approve low voltage switching plans prior to execution on site.
- Review and approve high voltage / medium voltage switching plans prior to execution on site.
- Act as senior technical authority for switching operations on the HV/LV system, undertaking or directing switching where required.
- Approve the release of systems for energisation and hand-back, and interface with the client's SAP or site owner on system ownership and control boundaries.
- Govern the QR code process for ACBs/MCCBs where implemented on a project.
- Commission, review and interpret project arc flash studies, and set the resulting PPE requirements for work within electrical rooms.
- Where no arc flash study exists, determine the applicable controls in line with Sensori's Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV and MV systems.
- Adjudicate on and authorise Operational Restrictions, and own the system for investigating any equipment subject to one.
- Act as the escalation point for all accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences associated with work on electrical distribution systems.
- Lead or oversee investigations, determine root cause, and ensure lessons learned are communicated across projects and reflected in procedure.
- Report to senior management and, where required, to the client and relevant authorities.
- Ensure subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained, current and filed for future reference.
- Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings and handover meetings.
- Support the close-out of project items including final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety file, QA file, material and plant relocations and project plan.
- Set and drive the Sensori culture of safety and quality across all assigned projects.
- Provide visible senior safety and quality leadership to project teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
- Strong understanding and interpretation of project specifications, drawings, SLDs, cable solutions, and data sheets.
- In-depth knowledge of earthing systems and configurations.
- Comprehensive understanding of busbar and busway systems, including interlocking secondary energy sources.
- Expertise in applying discrimination studies for short-circuit/overload protection and earth/line fault currents.
- Familiarity with FAT/SAT reporting for electrical switchgear and associated philosophies.
- Good understanding of switchgear configurations, separations, and type testing.
- Strong knowledge of national electrical regulations.
- Proficient in developing switching plans.
- Capable of performing switching and isolating of low/medium voltage systems.
- Experience and knowledge of mission-critical projects.
- At least 6 years' experience in a similar role.
- Electrical Qualification.
- Demonstrated capability in construction delivery.
- IT proficient, including CAD & MS Office.
- Exceptional time management skills, for both prioritising workload and meeting strict deadlines.
- QHSE knowledge.
