Junior Trader

We are looking for a Junior Trader to join our Copenhagen trading desk and become part of the team driving one of the fastest-growing parts of our global biomass business.

CM Biomass is the world's largest independent trader of wood pellets and among the world's five largest producers, trading more than 3.1 million tonnes per year across 13 countries. Working directly with our Head of Trading and Senior Traders, you'll sit at the center of our commercial operation connecting production, logistics, shipping, execution and sales to make the decisions that create value.

Job responsibilities

As Junior Trader, you will support the optimisation of global biomass flows — from production plants and suppliers around the world to customers across Europe and beyond.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting traders to maximise commercial value across production, logistics and shipping
• Analysing inventory, freight, customer demand and market opportunities
• Identifying opportunities to improve margins through smarter allocation, routing and timing
• Solving complex operational and commercial challenges as they arise
• Visiting terminals, customers and operational sites to understand physical business first-hand

This role also calls for someone outgoing. You will sit at the center of trading, reaching out across production, logistics, execution and customers every day, driving the business forward and building relationships. You are a natural people-person who thrives on connecting with others just as much as crunching the numbers.

You have recently completed, or are close to completing, a degree in business, economics, finance or a related discipline. You enjoy working with data and numbers, and you are comfortable using Excel. Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter most.

You communicate confidently in English; Danish is an advantage but not essential.
