Experienced Software Engineer - Quality & Verification

Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for quality, verification and reliability? Then this could be your next challenge.

Join Space Inventor and help develop the embedded software powering the next generation of satellites. In this role, you will lead software verification and automated testing while also contributing to embedded software development, software architecture, and requirements engineering. If you enjoy building robust test frameworks as much as writing embedded software, we'd like to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Verification Strategy: Define verification strategies that ensure our embedded software meets demanding quality and reliability requirements.
  • Technical Ownership: Take ownership of verification activities from planning through execution and release, ensuring our embedded software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated unit, integration and regression tests.
  • HIL Development: Design and operate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test systems that validate firmware on real hardware.
  • Requirements to Verification: Translate software requirements into clear, traceable test cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Flight Readiness: Plan and execute verification activities to ensure every firmware release is ready for flight qualification.
  • Quality Engineering: Work closely with firmware developers to improve software architecture, testability and maintainability from day one.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance our CI/CD pipelines and automated test infrastructure to enable fast and reliable feedback.
  • Integration & Debugging: Investigate software and hardware integration issues using a structured and analytical approach.

Qualifications

  • Embedded C Specialist: Strong experience developing embedded software in C on ARM-based microcontrollers.
  • Analytical Mindset: You enjoy finding complex software and hardware issues and solving them using a structured engineering approach.
  • Verification Expert: Proven experience planning and executing verification activities for embedded systems throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Automation Mindset: Hands-on experience building automated test frameworks using Unity and Python/PyTest.
  • HIL Experience: Practical experience developing and maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop test environments.
  • Systems Understanding: Solid understanding of embedded architectures and communication interfaces such as CAN, UART and Ethernet.
  • Requirements Driven: Experience working with software requirements, traceability and verification methodologies.
  • Engineering Discipline: Familiar with Git, code reviews and modern software development practices.
  • Quality Focus: Passionate about delivering robust, maintainable software through automation, testing and continuous improvement.
  • Industry Experience: Experience from aerospace, automotive, medical or other safety-critical industries is considered an advantage.

What We Offer

  • Develop software for real satellite missions.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers in electronics, RF, mechanics and systems engineering.
  • An inspiring and creative work environment.
  • Flexible working hours and a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunity for personal and professional development.
  • Good colleagues and several social events each year.
