Head of Data Platform & Solutions

Data is at the heart of how we trade, analyze markets, and build our competitive edge. Behind it is Data Platform & Solutions (DPS) – the team building the data foundation and solutions that turn ideas into something our trading and commercial teams can actually use.

We're looking for a Head of Data Platform & Solutions to lead the team and strengthen the connection between our data capabilities, technology strategy, and commercial ambitions.

You'll join a team with strong technical capabilities and a culture built on autonomy and ownership. Your job isn't to take decisions away from the people closest to the work – it's to set direction, create clarity, challenge when needed, and give the team the mandate to move.

What you'll do

• Build strong relationships across trading, commercial teams, and Tech
• Turn business needs and opportunities into clear direction for DPS
• Strengthen DPS' position as a trusted partner for data-intensive initiatives
• Help the team navigate competing priorities and step in when alignment or decisions are needed
• Lead and develop the team through sparring, honest feedback, and clear expectations
• Drive adoption of shared platform capabilities across the business
• Help shape our AI-ready data foundation across metadata, discoverability, agent access, and reusable infrastructure

Your team

DPS is a cross-functional team of 11 data engineers, software developers, and architects, working across platform development and business solutions. They build the data foundation behind our trading and analytical workflows while partnering closely with trading and commercial teams.

The team delivers solid results, with good collaboration and a high degree of ownership. Your job is to build on that momentum – creating stronger connections and helping the team increase its impact across InCommodities.

You'll report to our CIO and work closely with the other leaders across our Tech teams.

What you bring

• Leadership experience from data, technology, platforms, or another data-intensive environment
• Experience setting direction while giving capable teams the autonomy to execute
• Commercial understanding and the ability to connect technology with business opportunities
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial teams
• Enough technical understanding to challenge and support experienced engineers and architects
• Confidence giving direct, honest feedback and navigating difficult conversations
• Fluent English, written and spoken

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience from energy markets, financial trading, or another fast-moving data environment
• Experience leading data platform or data engineering teams
• Familiarity with Kafka, Flink, Iceberg/Parquet, StarRocks, MSSQL, Postgres, or Kubernetes
• Experience with data foundations supporting AI/ML workflows or agentic systems
