Core Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing global Commercial Management function, developing talent, strengthening capabilities, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Own the commercial governance of the global factory expansion portfolio, ensuring robust cost management, financial transparency, and disciplined decision-making across the project lifecycle.
- Define and drive the commercial strategy, standards, and governance framework for large-scale capital projects, establishing best practices in cost management, reporting, and portfolio oversight.
- Set the direction for cost estimating, forecasting, and commercial performance management, ensuring high-quality insights that support executive investment decisions.
- Drive the continuous evolution of commercial capabilities, digital tools, and processes to improve forecasting accuracy, cost performance, and portfolio visibility.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and project organizations, providing commercial insight, constructive challenge, and strategic guidance on risks, opportunities, and investment priorities.
- Champion commercial excellence by embedding consistent governance, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and driving performance across a global portfolio of complex capital projects.
The Commercial Management function sits within GWP Portfolio Development & Excellence and plays a pivotal role in delivering our global factory expansion portfolio. We provide the commercial governance, cost management expertise, and portfolio transparency that enable confident decision-making across a multi-billion DKK investment portfolio.
As Director, Head of Commercial Management, you will lead a global team while shaping the function's strategy, operating model, and future capabilities. You will establish world-class commercial standards, strengthen governance, and build a high-performing organization that drives commercial excellence across every stage of project delivery.

Do You Have What It Takes?
We're looking for an experienced commercial leader who thrives in complex, global environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams.
You bring
- Proven experience leading and developing multinational, geographically dispersed teams.
- Significant experience in commercial management, cost management, project controls, or commercial governance for large-scale capital or construction projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in cost estimating, forecasting, reporting, and portfolio performance management.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex global matrix organizations.
- A solid understanding of the construction project lifecycle, including design, procurement, contracting, sustainability, and project execution.
- Experience with standard forms of construction contracts and industry tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, BIM, Power BI, and Microsoft 365.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills, combined with sound commercial judgement and a results-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel globally (approximately 30 days per year).
- Leadership development or people leadership certifications.
- Project Management certification (PMI, IPMA, or equivalent).
- Professional certifications in commercial management, construction management, or project controls.
- Experience leading Centres of Excellence or driving organizational transformation and continuous improvement.
