DMPK Lead Scientist

Gubra

Do you want to help shape how DMPK supports peptide drug discovery from first idea to clinical development?

This is an opportunity to play a central role in shaping DMPK contributions across Gubra’s peptide discovery and early development pipeline. If you have solid DMPK expertise and want a role where your scientific judgment helps guide compound progression, translational discussions, and First-in-Human readiness, this could be the position you have been looking for.

As DMPK Lead Scientist at Gubra, you will be a key scientific contributor to DMPK strategy across internal projects. You will help define when and how DMPK activities are integrated into project plans, ensuring that data are generated at the right time, interpreted in the right context, and translated into decisions that move programs forward.

You can look forward to joining a successful biotech company with ambitious science, collaborative colleagues, and a strong culture, where DMPK is becoming an increasingly important part of how we progress peptide projects.

DMPK contributions from early drug discovery to early development

You will help shape the DMPK approach across programs from early drug discovery to First-in-Human studies. This includes using DMPK insights, PK/PD modelling, and simulations to support compound progression, dose setting, translational assessments, and development readiness — primarily within metabolic disease, age-related functional decline, and immunology and inflammation.

Working in dedicated cross-functional teams, you will collaborate with colleagues in computational drug discovery, peptide chemistry, molecular pharmacology, pharmaceutical development, and in vivo pharmacology. Your role will be to turn complex DMPK data into clear, useful recommendations that help project teams prioritize compounds, manage risk, and prepare for key milestones.

In practice, your impact will come through:

  • Contributing to DMPK strategy across the discovery value chain
  • Applying DMPK insights, PK/PD modelling, and simulations to guide compound progression, dose setting, translational assessments, and First-in-Human preparations
  • Translating complex data into clear recommendations for project teams and key decision points
  • Helping develop peptide DMPK workflows, processes, and best practices that strengthen quality, consistency, and scalability
  • Coordinating internal and CRO-supported studies to support decision-relevant designs, high-quality data, and milestone-aligned deliverables

Experienced DMPK scientist with the ambition to become a key expert

As Gubra’s DMPK Lead Scientist, you will be expected to contribute actively to the scientific development of the discipline. You should enjoy cross-functional dialogue, be comfortable influencing through strong data interpretation, and be motivated to help embed DMPK thinking naturally into project planning and decision-making.

Collaboration will be central to your success, as very little at Gubra happens without close teamwork across scientific disciplines. You should also be motivated by the opportunity to help develop structure in an area where many templates, workflows, and guidelines are still being shaped.

Your background also includes:

  • A natural science degree at master’s level or higher, combined with 5+ years of DMPK experience from drug discovery and/or early development
  • A solid DMPK mindset, with the ability to contribute to fit-for-purpose DMPK strategies and project plans for peptide programs
  • The ability to translate DMPK data and modelling & simulation into clear recommendations for cross-functional project teams,
  • Experience managing external studies or CRO collaborations is considered an advantage

Your new team

You will join a small, ambitious DMPK department in Gubra’s Biotech Business Unit, currently consisting of three scientists and three laboratory technicians. Your expertise will help strengthen how DMPK supports peptide projects across discovery and early development. We work in a welcoming environment built on trust, helpfulness, and a shared ambition to break new ground in peptide drug discovery. We offer flexible working conditions, but we generally prefer to spend time together on site because it strengthens collaboration, accelerates innovation, and supports team spirit. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the team.

Contact and application

Please apply no later than August 21, 2026 by uploading your cover letter, resume (in English), and relevant diplomas on our website.

If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact Senior Department Manager, Jakob Plum Christensen, at [email protected], who will return from vacation on August 10. If relevant, we will be happy to set up an additional call to discuss the role and the opportunities in more detail.

We look forward to hearing from you and exploring how you could help strengthen DMPK contributions to peptide drug discovery at Gubra.

About Gubra

Gubra is a disease-agnostic techbio company specialized in peptide-based drug discovery and development as well as preclinical contract research services striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the path towards a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.

Gubra’s activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two main highly synergistic business areas: Biotech and CRO Services. We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline.

Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging. In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics. Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development. Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.

People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of around 300 employees of which many are located in Hørsholm, Denmark. The mix of people from different cultures and educational backgrounds combined with our entrepreneurial mindset have greatly impacted our working environment, which is characterized by entrepreneurial drive, scientific curiosity, and teamwork – we join forces!
