Two Junior Engineers for the CBTC Project - Help shape advanced signalling for the future S-train ne
DSB
The CBTC team is growing as we prepare the S-train network for a future with a higher degree of automation and metro-like frequency.
We are looking for two Junior Engineers who want to contribute to a major railway programme while developing their technical skills in a collaborative environment.
Do you want to come on board?
You will join a team working with Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) and related systems that support the future operation of the S-train network. Our work includes CBTC, Traffic Management Systems (TMS), Data Communication Systems (DCS) and interlocking interfaces.
We work closely with colleagues, suppliers and specialists across disciplines to help ensure robust technical solutions and clear documentation.
As a Junior Engineer, you will support requirement follow-up, testing, technical clarification and project coordination with our international supplier, internally with operations in DSB and in close collaboration with project organizations managed by Banedanmark.
This is a role for someone who is curious, structured and motivated to learn. You do not need to know everything from day one — what matters most is your willingness to build knowledge and contribute to a complex technical project.
"We are looking for great engineers. We do not expect you to arrive with all the answers — but join us with a willingness to learn and contribute, in collaboration with our committed team of specialists. Join us as a Junior CBTC Engineer and help implement the next generation of intelligent train control."
Claus Rehfeld Moshøj, Head of Signals & UTO Systems
Your everyday life
Your tasks will depend on your profile and interests. You may focus more on TMS and DCS, or on CBTC and interlocking. You may also support the ongoing CBTC upgrade from GoA2 to GoA4, as well as renewal and construction projects on the railway. Throughout this, you will work closely with experienced colleagues who support your development.
A typical day may include reviewing supplier documentation and technical requirements, joining project meetings and helping prepare test activities. You will also support follow-up on findings, documentation of results and coordination across stakeholders.
Some tasks require detailed analysis, while others involve collaboration and communication. Across all of them, your work will help create quality, transparency and progress in the project.
Your tasks will include
- Reviewing technical specifications, requirements and supplier documentation
- Supporting project meetings, coordination and documentation across disciplines
- Preparing and supporting testing, integration and implementation activities
- Supporting renewal and construction projects in collaboration with Banedanmark
You are motivated by complex technical systems and enjoy working in a structured and collaborative way. You may be early in your career or already have some relevant experience.
Most importantly, you are motivated to learn and interested in helping develop reliable railway solutions for the future.
You do not need experience in every area below to be relevant for the role. We would like to hear from you if you have experience or interest in one or more of the following
- Railway signalling, requirements management or technical documentation
- Automated systems, data communication, interfaces or system integration
- Testing and validation, including an interest in safety and reliability disciplines such as SIL and RAMS
- A degree in engineering or another relevant technical field, good English skills, and motivation to learn Danish
- Free transportation with DSB
- Flexible working hours and the option to work from home a few days a week
- Access to DSB’s gym and attractive DSB discounts, including fitness centers
- Pension plan and health insurance
- Subsidized lunch scheme and the opportunity to buy food to take home
