Do you want to help shape resilient infrastructure of the future? Can you combine technical expertise with effective stakeholder collaboration? And are you inspired by complex projects that create real value for society? Then join COWI and help create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

To support the continued growth of our Climate, Utilities and Infrastructure business, we are looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our team working on some of Denmark's most important separate sewer systems, as well as drainage and climate adaptation projects.

As a Senior Drainage Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, designing and delivery of separate sewer system projects, contributing your technical expertise while supporting the development of junior colleagues. You will help improve resilience, sustainability and quality of life for communities across Denmark.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the technical design and delivery of separate sewer system and drainage projects
  • Developing hydraulic models and technical solutions for stormwater management and wastewater separation
  • Coordinating closely with clients, contractors, authorities and stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Ensuring quality, progress, safety and technical compliance across all project phases
  • Contributing to tender preparation, technical documentation and project planning
  • Mentoring and supporting the professional development of junior engineers
  • Staying up to date with best practice, regulation and innovation within separate sewer systems and climate adaptation.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Degree in Civil, Environmental or Infrastructure Engineering
  • 7+ years of professional experience with separate sewer systems, wastewater and stormwater management projects
  • Solid knowledge of drainage design, hydraulic modelling and infrastructure planning
  • Experience delivering complex separate sewer system projects from concept to completion
  • Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, authorities and stakeholders
  • Ability to guide and mentor less experienced colleagues
  • A proactive mindset and strong interest in sustainable water solutions.
