Senior Director (Co-Lead), Technical Advisory
Blue Power Partners
Blue Power Partners (BPP) is a global end-to-end techno-commercial advisory and delivery partner for renewable energy infrastructure projects. Founded in Denmark in 2016, BPP has grown into an international consultancy with 300+ employees representing over 40 nationalities. We operate in more than 30 countries and have supported over 200 projects, including more than 150 GW currently under development.
About The Job
You will join Technical Advisory, one of BPP's largest and most strategically important divisions, covering the full technical lifecycle of renewable energy and power-to-X projects — from early feasibility and system design through execution support and technical risk management.
Together with a co-leading Senior Director, you will jointly lead the division under BPP's Leadership in Pairs model, sharing accountability for strategy, people leadership, commercial development, and delivery excellence.
This is a player-coach role with a strong commercial mandate. Alongside divisional leadership, you will personally contribute to client delivery and actively drive business development — building and leveraging your industry network to originate new client opportunities, lead proposals, and convert pipeline into revenue.
Your main responsibilities:
- Build on and execute a global commercial growth strategy for Technical Advisory, aligned with BPP Consultancy's broader market expansion.
- Proactively build and leverage your network to identify, pursue, and convert new client opportunities — acting as a personal rainmaker, not only a delivery leader.
- Develop senior-level client relationships across the division's target markets, focused on long-term partnership and repeat business.
- Personally lead or co-lead client advisory engagements, including due diligence, feasibility studies, technical risk reviews, and grid studies.
- Lead, coach, and develop team leads and senior technical managers across a team of 80+ technical and techno-commercial professionals across APAC, EMEA, and AMER.
- Oversee resource planning, capacity management, quality standards, and risk mitigation, and manage the division's P&L and budgeting.
- Represent BPP externally as a thought leader in renewable energy technical advisory.
About You
Success in this role depends on your ability to combine deep technical credibility with strong commercial instincts, and to maneuver confidently in an entrepreneurial, international, and performance-driven organization. You are a natural relationship builder who sees business development as a core part of the job, not a secondary duty — someone who can engage senior engineers and discipline heads on technical substance while also shaping client narratives at executive level.
Preferably, we expect you to bring the following experience and personal traits:
- Master’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or related field); advanced certifications in renewable technologies or project management are an advantage.
- 10–15+ years in technical advisory, engineering consulting, or renewable energy project development, with a proven personal track record of delivering complex technical advisory work.
- Strong commercial track record — personally originating, leading, and closing client engagements, and converting network relationships into revenue.
- Extensive leadership experience, including responsibility for senior managers or team leads, ideally leading large-scale engineering organizations in matrixed or global settings.
- Deep hands-on experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, storage, grid, hybrid systems, and/or PtX), with an established professional network actively used for business development.
- High proficiency in English, written and spoken; proficiency in Danish is an advantage.
- Work authorization to work in Denmark is required.
