Global Property & Expansion Director

Flying Tiger Copenhagen is on an exciting growth journey! This is a key leadership role with significant influence on the future growth of our business.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen operates through three go-to-market models: company-owned stores, joint ventures and franchising. In Europe, the business primarily operates through owned and operated stores and a few markets with joint venture partnerships. Outside Europe, expansion is solely driven through franchising partnerships.

In this position, you will be responsible for Property and Expansion outside of Europe, i.e. with great collaboration with franchise partners, senior leadership, and regional teams, helping us create inspiring store experiences while delivering sustainable and profitable expansion. You will own and develop our global property, store development, and expansion agenda, while providing strategic direction and governance across our international markets.

In this role you will report directly to our CFO at our HQ in Copenhagen, where you will also be based. You will also lead, mentor and support our Store Development team and Property & Expansion Operations Manager, ensuring strong collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across functions.

Key responsibilities include

Property & Expansion Strategy

• Oversee global property & expansion strategy and operating model.
• Collaborate with regions, markets and senior stakeholders to develop market specific property plans considering relevant costs and profit goals.
• Work cross-functionally to effectively resolve properties issues, disputes, and contract issues.
• Evaluate brand real estate strategies and capital investment opportunities and provide recommendations on investment decisions.

Store Concept & Development

• Conduct store concept auditing in the markets.
• Oversee store design & development process from prospect to store opening, including new store and renewal sign-off.
• Own guidelines, documentation, and standards for store concept, development, property, and expansion.
• Ensure on-brand, on-time, and capital-efficient delivery of scalable store concepts.

Global Expansion

• Oversee new market expansion plans, working with Regional Heads of Property and Expansion and MDs, including new partner negotiations and onboarding.
• Sign-off on new market/existing partner initiatives; joint ownership of new market/new partner setups with regional teams.
• Forecast expansion requirements, analyze market trends, and manage annual budgets.

What you will bring

• Extensive experience within retail property, expansion, real estate, or store development.
• Strong leader with a successful track record of guiding and building high-performance teams.
• Proven success in delivering international growth strategies and rolling out branded retail concepts across multiple markets.
• Ability to maintain strong relationships within the retail real estate market and landlords.
• Strong commercial understanding with the ability to balance growth opportunities, risk management, and financial performance.
• Strong communication skills and used to presenting at executive level.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
