Scrum Master & Developer - Combine Agile Leadership with Practical Software Development

DSB

Join one of the teams behind DSB’s digital sales channels and help drive agile delivery, facilitate Scrum, and leverage AI to build solutions that improve customer journey.

This is a combined role for someone who wants to refine agile ways of working and help build robust, scalable digital sales solutions at DSB.

Welcome to IT Sales Solutions

We are a department of around 24 developers, testers, architects, and Scrum Masters with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, from recent graduates to proficient specialists.

Organized across four teams, we build, improve and maintain the back-end systems behind the DSB app, dsb.dk, ticket machines, and staffed sales solutions.

You will join a team focused on improving flow, ways of working, and delivering quality as we modernize our landscape from legacy systems to cloud technologies — always with the goal of delivering stable, user-friendly solutions for our customers.

“What I like the best is that we learn from each other, cooperate and help each other to finish difficult tasks.

Everyone, even from other teams, is ready to help you with any questions or problems you might have, especially when you are just starting out.

I feel that my effort can make the job of our customer-facing colleagues a bit easier and give more satisfaction to the customers.”

Says Marianna, IT System Developer from the team.

What will you be doing?

As a Scrum Master & Developer, your primary responsibilities are to

  • Facilitate the Scrum processes: Lead key Scrum ceremonies, remove blockers, and support team self-organization and collaboration.
  • Develop and deliver features: Build, test, and implement product features that create value for our users.

A typical day could start with you reviewing tasks in the backlog to ensure progress in the sprint.

Mid-morning, you participate in the daily stand-up meeting to share updates, discuss progress and raise any blockers.

The rest of the day you might review pull requests, give feedback to colleagues and collaborate on technical solutions.

As a Scrum Master, you prepare for upcoming events and identify opportunities to optimize flow and performance.

You work closely with the team and stakeholders to refine user stories, solve dependencies or brainstorm improvements.

A few days a week, we typically work from home, but you are always welcome in the office.

Other important tasks

  • Communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress
  • Improvements in development processes and working methods
  • Implementing new features, debugging or improving existing solutions

Are you our new Scrum Master & Developer?

We are looking for someone motivated by combining the facilitation of Scrum processes with the technical development of robust and scalable solutions that create value for our users and customers.

You thrive on sharing knowledge and giving and receiving feedback respectfully.

You are curious about new technologies and methods and open to improving processes.

We imagine that you have

  • Experience in running a team using Scrum methodologies, coaching in agile principles and ensuring continuous improvement
  • Experience with Java and an interest in modern software development practices, including Generative AI, Specification-Driven Development, BDD, and test automation
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub or similar
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing - and you are comfortable working in a Danish-speaking organization

What can DSB offer you?

  • Free transportation with DSB
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home a few days a week
  • Access to DSB’s gym and attractive DSB discounts, including fitness centers
  • Pension plan and health insurance
  • Subsidized lunch scheme and the opportunity to buy food to take home

At DSB, we have a smoke-free working hours policy as part of our overall efforts to promote health and well-being across the company.
