Associate Manager, CI & Projects – Maternity Cover (12 months)

We’re seeking an Associate Manager, CI & Projects on a fixed-term maternity cover to set direction, create alignment, and secure progress across the department.

About The Role

In this temporary role, you will lead the area strategy and CI portfolio, tightly aligned with site priorities. You will plan and facilitate strategic workshops, build capability and leadership behaviors, and enable teams to run improvement initiatives. You will own portfolio management, performance management, and reporting, and act as the department’s change manager to embed sustainable ways of working. The role includes direct line management of the CI/Projects team, including hiring, performance, and development in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the area strategy process and define CI/portfolio strategy aligned with site priorities.
  • Translate strategy into a roadmap, objectives, and success metrics; embed core values in decisions and behaviors.
  • Plan and facilitate strategic workshops and cross-functional initiatives; remove bottlenecks.
  • Design learning and leadership activities that build skills, mindsets, and the ability to drive excellence.
  • Enable others’ workshops by ensuring sponsorship, clear scope, resources, risk management, and timely escalation.
  • Govern and prioritize the portfolio; maintain a visual overview; balance capacity and dependencies.
  • Partner with the council, Business Transformation, and OPEX/CI partners for governance and alignment.
  • Assess culture and operating systems; identify gaps and standardize processes and management systems.
  • Ensure KPI and data integrity; define and track cultural and operational measures; prepare dashboards and facilitate reviews.
  • Report to functional representatives and the council; escalate roadblocks, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Directly manage the CI/Projects team, including hiring, performance management, and development planning.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharma industry within a GMP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and quality systems.
  • Proven track record driving systemic, sustainable change: strategy deployment, cultural transformation, and change management.
  • Effective collaboration across QA, QC, Manufacturing/Operations, and MSAT/Process Development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to influence without authority and deliver results using structured CI/lean methods (e.g., A3/PDCA, Kaizen, visual management, portfolio/project management).

Qualifications And Tools

  • Education: Relevant degree (e.g., engineering, pharmacy, life sciences, or equivalent).
  • Methods/tools: CI/Lean, A3/PDCA, Kaizen, visual management, portfolio management, KPI design and dashboarding.
  • Language: Fluent English; Danish is a plus but not required.
