What you’ll do
- Lead day‑to‑day delivery, support, and availability of global infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and physical/virtual platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Build, configure, administer, and optimize enterprise technologies including VMware, Windows Server (2012–2022), Citrix, Linux, hyperconverged stacks, and storage platforms.
- Drive cloud adoption and operations on AWS and/or Azure; automate wherever possible via scripting and infrastructure tooling.
- Own capacity management, business continuity, backup/replication (e.g., Veeam), and disaster recovery for platform‑hosted systems.
- Translate architectural designs into operational solutions in partnership with technical architects; produce solution docs, SOPs, and runbooks that ensure QoS.
- Implement and champion information security controls and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000); ensure new systems meet security, compliance, and AIS metrics prior to go‑live.
- Deliver cross‑functional projects end‑to‑end, including system validation/testing, documentation for GxP/critical IT, and readiness for internal/external audits.
- Partner with senior stakeholders and vendors globally; provide clear technical guidance, influence roadmaps, and align IT/OT strategy and execution.
- Mentor peers, elevate engineering standards, and contribute to enterprise architecture, security initiatives, and operational excellence.
- Deep hands‑on expertise operating global enterprise infrastructure, including:
- Virtualization and platforms: VMware, Windows Server, Citrix, Linux, hyperconverged
- Cloud: AWS and/or Azure
- Storage: design, build, and administration
- Backup/DR: Veeam or similar replication technologies
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
- Security: implementing controls aligned to frameworks such as ISO 27000
- Scripting/automation for efficiency and reliability
- Strength in producing clear technical documentation, SOPs, and validation evidence; at ease representing systems in audits/inspections.
- Excellent communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences; ability to influence stakeholders and lead through delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant technical certifications.
- 7+ years’ experience in a 3rd/4th‑line role within an enterprise IT infrastructure environment, or
- 5+ years’ experience in a biomedical IT service environment,
- Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background to deliver against role expectations.
This is a global position that will support all of our sites. This position can be based at our site in Denmark or the United Kingdom. Benefits and compensation will be governed by the location that you are based from and considered your home site.
