Product Lead
Freetrailer Group A/S
Our new company strategy will be rolled out broadly in September, and you will turn it into a clear, living roadmap and shipped customer value. Your job is to help Freetrailer balance strategic execution with the innovation and flexibility that keep us moving fast.
Why Freetrailer?
Freetrailer may look like trailer rental from the outside. From the inside, it is a digital self-service platform with real, layered product complexity: mobile apps, web booking, payments, product availability, partner locations, operations and thousands of daily customer journeys across five markets. There is a lot of product surface to shape, and a lot of room to make it sharper.
We are a listed company with more than 100 employees, but our Tech team is still small, hands-on and close to the business. We move fast, try things out and follow good ideas all the way when we believe in them. We believe in short decision paths, informal collaboration and giving people real ownership.
We celebrate wins together. And when things do not go as planned, we stand together, learn from it and improve. We are scaling quickly, but we are determined to keep the startup mindset that got us here.
About The Role
As Product Lead, you will own the product roadmap and create clarity between strategy, stakeholder input, innovation opportunities and what the team builds. You will work closely with and report to the CTO, who owns our overall technical direction, while you drive the roadmap and the prioritisation behind it. Our Product Designers and Business Analyst are early partners in this work: together you will explore user needs, flows and edge cases from the start, so the roadmap is shaped by real user and operational insight rather than handed down.
You are not expected to invent the company strategy alone. That comes from the Senior Leadership Team. Your role is to turn strategic priorities into practical product direction and make trade-offs visible when priorities, capacity or business needs change. The role may evolve over time depending on your strengths and interests, but from day one the mission is clear: own the roadmap, sharpen priorities, and help turn ambition into shipped product value.
Your Main Responsibilities
You will help the Tech team understand what matters most and why: the outcome we want, what has changed and which trade-offs we are making.
Just as importantly, you will listen to technical feedback, risks and sequencing needs, and adjust when new information changes the picture. You do not need to define every detail yourself, but you must make sure unclear requirements are handled, decisions are made, and the team keeps moving in the right direction.
Across the wider organisation, from the Senior Leadership Team to Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Finance and country teams, you will create trust in the roadmap: gathering input, keeping it updated as things change, and explaining decisions so people understand the why and not just the what, including when the answer is "no" or "not now".
And you will protect focus without losing curiosity. We deliberately reserve capacity for innovation, AI, experiments and the strong ideas that emerge along the way, and you will help qualify those opportunities, connect them to strategy, and make sure they either become clear priorities or are consciously parked.
Who You Are
You are an experienced product profile (product management, product leadership or similar) who is equally at home with strategy and execution. You create clarity in complex situations, balance customer needs with business and technical reality, and take ownership all the way through. You can hold the line on priorities when it matters, and you are just as willing to change course when the evidence says you should.
Above all, you are deeply collaborative. You involve people early rather than deciding behind closed doors, you listen properly, and you make people feel heard even when the final call does not go their way. You build trust through openness, honesty and follow-through, and you get real energy from helping a team pull in the same direction. You lead through clarity and relationships, not authority.
It is a plus if you have worked with B2C or app-first products, marketplaces, booking or logistics platforms, scale-up environments, data-informed product development, or helping product, UX and business analysis work better together.
What You Will Help Us Achieve
In your first year, we hope you will help us:
- Own a clear, living product roadmap the whole company can trust.
- Turn strategic priorities from the leadership team into practical product direction.
- Bring focus on what we build and make trade-offs visible when things change.
- Make sure unclear requirements get handled so ambiguity never blocks progress.
- Balance roadmap execution with innovation, AI and strong new ideas.
- Create alignment and momentum across Tech, UX, business and leadership.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we would love to hear from you. Send us your CV and a short note about why the role and Freetrailer appeal to you. We review applications on a rolling basis.
