Student AI Engineer – Conversational AI

This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience with modern AI engineering, Generative AI, cloud technologies, and software development practices while working alongside experienced AI Engineers and Data Scientists on solutions used by millions of customers

Who We Are

The Conversational AI team is a diverse group of AI Engineers and Data Scientists with a broad range of educational, professional, and cultural backgrounds.

We are responsible for developing and scaling AI-powered customer-facing solutions across Danske Bank. Our work spans conversational AI, chatbots, advisor assistants, voicebots etc.

We are leading AI innovation and continuously explore how emerging technologies can create value for both our customers and the bank. We combine research, experimentation, and engineering excellence to bring impactful AI solutions into production.

What You'll Be Working On

As a Student AI Engineer, you will support the development, integration, and deployment of Generative AI applications and conversational AI solutions.

You will work closely with experienced colleagues and contribute to activities such as:

• Building and maintaining AI-powered applications and services
• Developing integrations between LLMs, APIs, databases, and internal platforms
• Supporting the development of chatbots, knowledge assistants, and AI agents
• Assisting with the implementation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions
• Developing and testing workflows using technologies such as Azure AI, OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Supporting CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and operationalization of AI solutions
• Helping improve our development practices, tooling, and engineering standards

What We're Looking For

We imagine that you:

• Are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• Have a strong interest in AI, software engineering, and cloud technologies
• Are comfortable programming in Python
• Have basic knowledge of software development principles, APIs, and databases
• Enjoy building solutions and bringing ideas into production
• Are curious, structured, and motivated to learn
• Thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Can work approximately 15–20 hours per week alongside your studies

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Llama, etc.)
• Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms
• APIs, microservices, and containerization technologies
• Vector databases and RAG architectures
• LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar AI frameworks
• Git and collaborative software development practices
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
