Student Data Scientist – Conversational AI

Who We Are

The Conversational AI team is diverse team Data Scientists and AI Engineers with various educational and cultural backgrounds. We are responsible for applying AI in Danske Banks customer facing solutions ranging anywhere from ML models used for personalisation and marketing optimisation to chatbots and advisor assistants.

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the latest technology and research identifying use case where AI can be applied to create value for customer and the bank.

What You’ll Work On

As a student assistant, you’ll contribute to the development and testing of GenAI applications, such as chatbots, knowledge assistants, and NLP tools. You’ll work closely with our experienced data scientists and engineers on:

• Preparing and cleaning datasets for NLP tasks
• Evaluating the output of LLMs and fine-tuning prompts
• Assisting with prototype development using tools like OpenAI, Hugging Face, and LangChain
• Supporting testing and benchmarking of RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) systems
• Documenting findings, results, and code for internal use

What We’re Looking For

• You’re currently studying a relevant degree (Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or related)
• You have a strong interest in NLP and GenAI
• You’re comfortable coding in Python and familiar with basic AI libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas)
• You’re structured, proactive, and motivated to learn
• You can work 15–20 hours per week alongside your studies

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Familiarity with LLMs (e.g., GPT models), vector databases, or chatbot development
• Experience with Git, Jupyter Notebooks, or cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
