Do you have the leadership capability to guide and lead a team of project managers and strengthen project execution standards? We are looking for a Section Manager to lead a team of app 15 project managers and senior project managers responsible for delivering CAPEX projects. The section is a part of Group Technology – Wool Formation which is responsible for managing and delivering core technology to the production facilities in the Rockwool Group. Most of the equipment within this area is developed, patented and designed by Rockwool engineers

What you will be doing:
As Section Manager of Project Management, you will lead and develop a team of project managers overseeing a varied portfolio of CAPEX projects, with project values ranging from €0.5 million to approximately €60 million.

In this role, you will combine people leadership, project governance, and continuous improvement to ensure strong project delivery performance and high compliance with project management standards and models.

Your focus will be to build a high-performing project management function, strengthen capabilities across the team, and ensure consistent execution in line with project models, governance requirements, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a department of approximately 15 Project Managers and Senior Project Managers delivering CAPEX projects.

  • Foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture through coaching, performance management, and professional development.

  • Strengthen project management capabilities by ensuring consistent application of project governance, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Support project managers in resolving complex challenges and continuously improving project execution and delivery performance.

  • Drive organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen project delivery, ways of working, and team capabilities.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the CAPEX project management function.

  • Monitor department performance and ensure alignment with strategic priorities, operational objectives, and business goals.

What you bring:

To succeed in this role, you bring a strong combination of project management expertise and people leadership experience. We expect that you have:

  • Solid experience as a Project Manager, preferably delivering CAPEX or other complex investment projects.
  • A recognised project management certification.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team of Project Managers or managing a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • A strong track record of coaching and developing project managers while building high-performing teams.

Experience strengthening project governance, driving consistent project execution, and leading change initiatives.

  • The ability to lead through influence, coaching, and clear direction.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business functions.
  • A structured, collaborative, and continuous improvement mindset. A structured and improvement-oriented mindset
