Gas Trader

Norlys Energy Trading A/S

Are you motivated by making decisions in a fast-moving market where your analysis can have an immediate impact?

As a Gas Trader, you'll work directly with European gas markets from the beginning, developing your analytical and commercial skills through hands-on trading. If you're looking for an opportunity to learn quickly, take on responsibility and build a career in energy trading, this could be the right next step for you.
About the team

You'll join our Gas Spot Trading team, responsible for trading and optimising short-term positions across European gas markets. Operating in a dynamic 24/7 market, the team manages Within-Day and Day-Ahead positions while optimising asset flexibility across storage and transport.

Working closely with Risk, Trading Operations Optimisation (TOO), Portfolio Management, Analytics and Compliance, you'll become part of a collaborative team that values structured processes, continuous feedback and knowledge sharing. As your experience grows, so will your responsibility.
About the role

In this role, you'll combine market analysis, operational awareness and real-time decision-making while collaborating with colleagues across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including TOO, Risk and TSOs.

Ensure compliance with trading mandates and established trading processes.
What we are looking for

You'll thrive in this role if you're analytical, curious and motivated by making decisions in a fast-moving environment. While previous trading experience isn't essential, we're looking for someone who's eager to learn, takes ownership of their development and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

You'll join a team where you'll learn by doing, work directly with live markets and gradually build the confidence to make independent trading decisions. At the same time, you'll become part of a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, continuous feedback and professional development are part of everyday work.

Direct exposure to live European gas markets from the beginning.

Structured onboarding and close collaboration with experienced traders.

A clear path towards independent trading responsibility within 3–6 months.
