Mechanical engineer for R&D

NOVENCO Building & Industry

Customers expect high performance fans and ventilation products that deliver worldclass efficiency, long lifetime, low environment foot print and compliance with different markets. Meeting these expectations requires robust mechanical development from concept to validation.

We’re hiring a Mechanical Development Engineer to strengthen our R&D Core team in Næstved, ensuring optimized designs, validated performance, and documented compliance across both new products and enhancements of our existing fan platforms.

Standardization and modularization is very important for the fan range we are suppling to the market. Novenco has a wide product range, covering standard conditions, ATEX/Ex, Smoke control fans and fans operating in harsh environment.

Your impact

  • Develop and optimise mechanical designs for fans, components and accessories across multiple development projects annually, ensuring manufacturability and performance, based on standardization and modularization principles
  • Prepare and update 3D models, drawings and BOMs in Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro, supporting accurate production data in IFS ERP
  • Perform stress analysis using FEA to optimize and validate structural integrity, material thicknesses and safety margins
  • Execute mechanical measurements in lab, factory and at customer sites, securing reliable test data for design decisions
  • Identify and implement cost‑reduction and performance‑improvement opportunities, reducing material use or assembly time by measurable percentages in balancing with optimization on low CO2 foot print
  • Support troubleshooting on warranty cases, product issues and optimisation tasks, delivering structured root‑cause findings
  • Interpret and apply relevant norms and standards, ensuring CE/ATEX‑ready documentation and compliant designs

What drives success

  • Experience in mechanical engineering within ventilation, rotating machinery, product development or similar
  • Strong CAD capability with Inventor/Vault, and confidence in producing manufacturing‑ready drawings
  • Hands‑on experience with sheet metal, machined parts, and composite/metal assemblies
  • Solid understanding of FEA, vibrations and balancing to support design validation
  • Knowledge of CE/ATEX documentation and practical implementation in mechanical designs
  • Structured problem-solver able to combine analytical knowledge with practical implementation
  • Collaborative communicator who works naturally with electrical, controls, PTA, test engineers and suppliers

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and employee benefits in line with company policy
  • 25 days’ vacation plus 5 days Feriefri after qualifying period
