As the Installation Lead for Offshore Construction, your day will involve supervising and guiding assigned teams to ensure the safe, timely, and effective execution of work activities. You will be at the forefront of daily planning and execution, adhering to contract specifications, project timelines, and established EHS and QA systems. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a Zero Harm and Zero Defect culture, ensuring all work aligns with the highest standards of safety and quality. This includes implementing and upholding rigorous EHS procedures, validating personnel qualifications, and ensuring compliance with required documentation, permits, and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS). You will also drive process optimization by implementing Lean workflows and coordinating improvements across all site activities. This role requires an experienced leader with a strong technical background in wind turbine products and a proven electrical aptitude, preferably supported by a degree. You must excel in conflict resolution, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in the offshore industry. The position involves global travel and working on a rotational basis, both onshore and offshore, to support project execution.
- Lead and enforce EHS policies to maintain a Zero Harm environment on site.
- Ensure all work activities comply with quality standards, project permits, and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
- Participate in EHS discussions during project planning and ensure all necessary safety assessments are completed.
- Validate that all personnel, including contractors, are qualified and fully briefed on EHS and quality protocols.
- Foster a Zero Defect culture by ensuring high-quality standards in all work performed by installation teams.
- Supervise, guide, and mentor installation teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective execution of tasks.
- Manage the allocation of working hours to ensure team well-being and prevent excessive overtime.
- Provide continuous performance feedback and support skill development for technicians.
- Maintain team focus and resolve conflicts to ensure a productive work environment.
- Oversee the daily planning and execution of installation activities according to project specifications and schedules.
- Drive the implementation and optimization of Lean workflows to standardize execution and improve efficiency.
- Supervise adherence to established processes, address deviations, and coordinate improvements across all areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent vocational training combined with extensive experience in an industrial electrical setting.
- Proven leadership experience in offshore construction or large-scale industrial projects, with a demonstrated understanding of project site workflows and team supervision.
- Strong analytical thinking skills and a hands-on mentality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
- Broad knowledge of offshore wind industry standards and technologies.
- Proficient understanding of EHS management, quality assurance (QA), and Lean methodologies.
- Ability to proactively identify risks and implement effective solutions.
