This position is based at our friendly office in Roskilde, you will join our Payments Domain. In the Payments area, we are building and delivering solutions that support our banks in being part of the payment infrastructure in Denmark and internationally. Payments Execution is responsible for creating the future payment landscape by building bridges between legacy systems and cutting-edge technologies.

You will be part of leading the delivery of Instant Euro Payments, Verification of Payee and much more. In addition, the role includes leading our test cluster. This includes exploring how AI can help us work smarter and improve quality.

As development manager, you are expected to ensure that new solutions are developed and delivered on time, in the right quality, and in close coordination with the foundation team that will take over the ongoing maintenance of the system. You will play a key role in making sure development is aligned across teams, dependencies are managed proactively, and the solutions are built in line with BEC strategies.

Your team consists of around 15 dedicated employees, in a mix of Business Analyst and Software Engineers, located in Roskilde and Warsaw. As development manager you have the HR responsibility for all members of the team, and you will report to the development director for the Payments domain and be an integral part of the management team in the domain.



Primary tasks and responsibilities:
In the position as development manager, you will work closely with the management team within your domain, product manager, product owners, architects, team members and other development managers in BEC to ensure cross-company collaboration.

Delivery responsibility:

  • Give input and ultimate commitment on agreed objectives for delivery of the entire team backlog

  • On team level, set challenging goals, remove impediments, and improve collaboration across teams

  • Ensure team has necessary budget, resources, approvals, and other support

  • Communicate with key stakeholders and collect and share feedback

  • Ensure transparency on decisions, progress, and results

  • Activities in domain management team that support and develop the Payment Domain in general

People responsibility:

  • Live and lead BEC leadership foundation

  • Build high performing team to effectively deliver backlog and define team mission

  • Coordinate recruiting, hiring, and staffing of talent

  • Ensure professional development for teams & leadership

  • Overall performance management through frequent performance review, creating team development plans and mentoring and coaching of the team

System responsibility:

  • Accountable for the system ownership

  • Proactively identify and prioritize high-level maintenance tasks to ensure system is in good condition, and coordinates on prioritization with PO

  • Manage timely resolution of critical problems with the different platforms

  • Help manage risks and dependencies across teams

  • Escalate impediments to stakeholders as needed

  • Ensure development is in line with architectural principles and guidelines

  • Ensure solutions are scalable and flexible to enable future growth

To succeed you will have:

  • A broad understanding of IT Operations/maintenance and development from both technological and BEC processes perspectives.

  • Ability to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions.

  • Great if you already have experience as a manager, team leader, or technical leader, but we are also open to considering you if you have a passion for people management and feel that your next career stop is leadership.

  • A curious and open mindset, with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
