HR Project Portfolio Manager

ROCKWOOL Group

Ready to help build a sustainable future with us?

As the world evolves, so does our responsibility to live and build smarter. At ROCKWOOL, we turn that responsibility into action, delivering innovative stone wool solutions that improve everyday life and protect future generations.

Join us as our new HR Project Portfolio Manager at our HQ based in Hedehusene, Denmark - and make a real difference!

This is a unique opportunity to join at an important time in ROCKWOOL’s HR transformation journey, where clear governance, focused prioritization, and strong execution are critical to delivering on the ambitions of HR and supporting the company’s broader transformation. If you are passionate about strategy execution, portfolio governance, and creating clarity in complex environments, this could be the role for you.

“We are looking for someone to translate our priorities into structured execution and strengthen how we work together across global and local HR. This role will be a key enabler for ROCKWOOL’s and HR’s success in the years to come.” – Pernille Fritz Vilhelmsen, CHRO of ROCKWOOL

Your future team

You will join the HR Leadership Team and report directly to our CHRO (Chief HR Officer). The HR Leadership Team is a collaborative group of professionals dedicated to driving strategic transformation across the organisation. The team works across time zones and geographies, bringing diverse perspectives to tackle complex challenges. You will partner with the CHRO on enterprise transformation and proactively engage with Finance, Sustainability, and Group Strategy to ensure HR’s strategic priorities align and support Rockwool’s overall transformation. The team values pragmatism, clarity, and the ability to simplify complexity into actionable insights.

What you will be doing

  • Shape HR's strategic direction: Orchestrate yearly roadmap creation in a global-local context, focusing on must-win priorities rather than trying to do everything at once. You'll distil strategic ambitions into a clear, achievable portfolio.
  • Build and embed portfolio governance: Create HR's project governance framework, including defining the HR Leadership Team’s operating rhythm for strategy execution. You'll establish the structures and processes that enable the team to work effectively together.
  • Monitor and report on progress: Manage project tracking, reporting, and risk monitoring across the portfolio. You'll provide visibility on what's working, what needs attention, and what we should prioritise next.
  • Facilitate intelligent prioritisation: Challenge assumptions, ask the right questions, and recommend which initiatives deserve resources and attention. You'll help the leadership team make decisions that balance ambition with organisational capacity.
  • Develop PM capability across HR: Work alongside HR colleagues that manage project projects to lift project management skills across the function. You'll mentor, spar, and share best practices to build capability.
  • Translate data into insight: Work naturally with HR data, KPIs, and dashboards to tell the story behind the numbers and inform better decisions.

What you bring

  • Governance and portfolio management: You have demonstrated experience managing multiple initiatives across an organisation, tracking progress, handling risks, and making tough prioritisation calls. You're excellent at creating clarity and oversight in complex situations.
  • Broad HR knowledge: You understand the landscape of HR disciplines; HR Operations, Learning & Development, Rewards, Organisational Development, and HRIS. You don't need to be an expert in each, but you grasp how they connect and support each other.
  • Communication and stakeholder influence: You have strong written communication skills and the ability to distil complexity into what matters most. You navigate across global teams and HR functions without formal authority, building trust and influencing effectively through clear thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Analytical capability: You work naturally with data, KPIs, and reporting tools. You're comfortable translating numbers into insights that drive action.
  • Strategy execution and change: You have demonstrated experience driving strategy execution, either through PMO (Project Management Office) work or by leading change initiatives within or alongside HR functions.
  • A can-do and pragmatic approach : You don't get caught up in perfection or endless debate—instead, you focus on what's achievable given the organisation's current context and capacity.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Experience working in complex global organisational contexts
  • Familiarity with HR technology platforms and systems
  • Background in organisational development or transformation programmes
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).

We know that you might not meet all of these qualifications, but if you bring related skills, experience, or a strong track record of learning and delivering in similar contexts, we'd love to hear from you.

What we offer

You'll join a leadership team committed to shaping how HR drives transformation across a global organisation. This is a strategic role where your work directly influences Rockwool's ability to execute on its most important priorities. You'll have the opportunity to build something meaningful—a governance framework that helps teams collaborate better, make smarter decisions, and deliver impact.

We invest in your development and career growth. You can expect:

  • Strategic impact: Direct partnership with the CHRO and exposure to group-level strategy, finance, and sustainability discussions
  • Collaborative culture: A team environment built on our values of ambition, responsibility, integrity, and efficiency—what we call "The ROCKWOOL Way"
  • Global perspective: The chance to work across 37 countries and engage with diverse teams and viewpoints
  • Sustainability focus: Be part of a company committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and making a real difference in the world
