The role

As a data consultant at one of Europe’s fastest-growing consultancies, you will translate technical data concepts into clear business value and ensure systems are aligned with organisational objectives. You will design and build scalable ETL pipelines that support data integration and transformation needs, using modern tools and technologies such as Databricks, Azure, dbt and Fabric to create meaningful solutions for our clients.

You will develop data models and architectures that enable efficient querying, reporting and analysis in complex environments. You will also help ensure strong engineering practices through CI/CD pipelines, test automation, DevOps and MLOps approaches, while bringing clarity to both the “how” and the “why” behind each solution.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is skilled, curious and committed to both personal and professional growth. You bring a master’s degree and significant practical experience as a data engineer or in a similar role, ideally three or more years. You have a consulting mindset and enjoy working closely with clients both on-site and remotely. As we work with both international and Danish clients, proficiency in Danish is a plus.

You have hands-on expertise in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and the wider Azure Data & AI ecosystem, with strong skills in Python, SQL and ideally PySpark. You bring a solid foundation in data modelling and architecture, including concepts such as Star schema and Data Vault, and you are familiar with data extraction tools such as ADF, Fivetran, DLTHub and Lakeflow Connect, as well as BI and orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow and Dagster.

Experience with Git version control, CI/CD, DevOps, MLOps, test automation, streaming data solutions and API data extraction will support you well in the role. We also value a genuine commitment to continuous learning, including achieving relevant certifications over time.

Certifications we value

We highly regard the following technical certifications, although they are not required upfront:

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate (or higher)
  • DP-100 Azure Data Scientist Associate
  • DP-203 Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure
  • DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
  • DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate
  • AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert

If you do not yet hold these certifications, we will support you in achieving many of them over time. Your first-year learning plan will include certifications and advisory fundamentals to help you create strong impact with our clients.

We offer a clear career model with transparent roles and expectations, relevant training and certifications, and an equal process for everyone. You will be part of a diverse and international work environment with an informal culture, flat hierarchy and opportunities for both personal and professional growth.

What We Can Offer

At Valcon, we believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. You will have the opportunity to combine your data expertise with some of the best business consultants to solve complex business problems and create tangible benefits for our clients. You will collaborate with talented and experienced consultants across business areas and levels and be supported by enhanced benefits throughout all life stages, including maternity, paternity and adoption leave, health and well-being initiatives, and resources for navigating significant life transitions. Our value-driven culture is guided by Integrity, Together, Joy, Curious and Can Do, and you can also look forward to engaging in social activities such as yoga, wine tasting, knitting nights, sanua gus and padel tennis. You will join a welcoming and cosy office environment, with homemade breakfast and lunch every day, located in the heart of Copenhagen at Meldahlsgade 5, 1613 København V
