Intern for QA Drug Substance

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is undergoing rapid development; our company is expanding at high speed, and this is just the beginning. It is therefore critical that we continuously work on optimizing our processes and make our workflows smarter to ensure we can keep up with this development. We are looking for people who share our passion, drive and energy (Genki) to be part of our team in Quality Assurance - Drug Substance Manufacturing (QA DS).

As part of the QA intern unit, you will deal with precisely this. Your main purpose will be to help drive a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture in all areas of QA DS. We work with LEAN as an integral part of our everyday life and strive continuously to optimize QA DS processes end-to-end by reducing non-value-added activities and encouraging innovative thinking.

Your Primary Tasks And Responsibilities Would Include

  • Learning about and assisting in mapping of production processes, QA support function processes and overall information flow
  • Presenting data-driven solutions for process standardization and efficiency improvements, using Lean and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Routinely engaging with stakeholders within and outside the department to secure buy-in for various project executions
  • Understanding key principles behind data selection for a given problem statement, and employing digital tools like Tableau to source, compute and present solution models
  • Playing a significant role in development of KPIs for QA DS and standardization of meeting boards, agendas and structures as part of our lean journey
  • Planning and facilitating workshops, and following up with end-users on implemented meeting boards and dashboards for cyclic feedback and improvement
  • Assisting in development of long-term digitalization and automation of data flows for QA DS functions

Through the above tasks, you will contribute to the continued implementation of LEAN, process optimization, human performance and Shingo in QA DS. Moreover, you will do this as part of a fantastic team.

Our Expectations

We value that you are ambitious, committed, curious, data-driven and eager to learn about the challenges behind objective quantification of a given problem

It is expected that you are pursuing a degree in manufacturing or production engineering or a strongly related field, and have a sound understanding of the foundations of manufacturing and production process flow theories. You are expected to have a basic understanding of industrial problem-solving methods through your education and are keen on learning how to apply them in real-world settings.

You have a knack for communication and ‘technical storytelling’ and are able to use it to maximize the outcomes of your stakeholder engagements. Furthermore, you are eager to participate in cross-functional meetings, open lines of communication across departments and have a general desire and aptitude to increase self-learning levels as well as that of team and department.

Proficiency in using digitals tools for drawing and BI (business intelligence) would be a big advantage, while the minimum expectation would be a command over MS Office suite.
