Financial Controller

Trackunit

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Group Finance department. In this role, you will help safeguard the financial integrity and compliance of Trackunit's global entity structure, contributing to accurate reporting, clean audits, and tax compliance across a business that is genuinely changing how one of the world's largest industries operates.

You will join a tight Group Finance team where the work spans reporting, audit, controls, intercompany, and tax support, and where everyone is expected to pick up across all of it. The structures exist. What we need now is someone who can own their assigned areas, deliver reliably without being chased, and grow into more responsibility over the year.

We work with a flexible hybrid setup, which means you can combine office and remote work in whatever way works best for you.

This role sits within Group Finance and reports to the Group Finance Manager.

With locations in the hearts of Copenhagen, Kolding, Aarhus and Aalborg, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from one of our locations or remotely from anywhere in Denmark. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

What’s in it for you?

  • Ownership from the start, a clear path to more responsibility, and the kind of broad exposure you only get on a team where everyone works across the whole picture.
  • A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company. We are moving quickly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to adjust. Back in 2020 we were 150 employees at Trackunit and we have just passed 450 employees.
  • International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
  • We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organisation/strategy.
  • Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
  • Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. And this priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.

Who are you ideally?

  • Grounded in IFRS. You have a solid technical foundation in financial reporting, with exposure to consolidation and statutory accounts, and 3 to 5 years in financial controlling, audit, or group finance.
  • Audit-tested. You have supported audits and managed audit workpapers to deadline, and you know what audit-ready quality actually looks like.
  • Organised and thorough. You manage multiple tasks and competing priorities without day-to-day direction, you hit deadlines, and you flag what needs senior review before it becomes a problem.
  • A clear communicator. You adapt your style to the audience, from technically precise with auditors and advisors to clear and concise with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable across complexity. Experience across multi-entity or cross-border structures is an advantage, and working knowledge of ERP systems is too. NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • AI enabled. You are curious about putting AI to work in your routines. We use Claude across the business, and we want people who treat it as genuine leverage, not a novelty.
  • Qualified. You hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent. A professional qualification such as HD and IFRS and similar is an advantage, as is basic familiarity with tax and transfer pricing concepts.
  • Fluent in English. Our working language across the business is English. Additional languages are a plus.

Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're particularly drawn to this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

Success in this role is measured against six outcomes:

  • Reporting and close. Monthly reporting packages are accurate and on time, ready for our VP Finance, the CFO, and other stakeholders. Revenue recognition is applied consistently under IFRS 15 across your assigned entities.
  • Audit and financial statements. Audit support is delivered to a high standard. Workpapers are prepared, queries resolved, timelines met. Consolidated and statutory financial statements are audit-ready in quality.
  • Internal controls. Controls are documented and maintained, and audit findings are actioned and resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Intercompany. Intercompany transactions and balances are reconciled monthly, with breaks identified and resolved before close. Intercompany loans are administered in line with the transfer pricing policy and Treasury direction.
  • Tax and transfer pricing support. You provide second-line support on corporate tax, VAT/GST queries and first-draft transfer pricing documentation.
  • Process and tooling. Recurring work runs efficiently and reliably. You use NetSuite and other tools to automate and streamline, and you raise improvement suggestions rather than sit on inefficiencies.

This year, the focus is on onboarding into Group Finance, understanding the full entity structure and close process, and taking ownership of your assigned areas within the first few months. Near term, you will support the month-end close and reporting cycle, contribute to the annual audit, and build familiarity with Trackunit's transfer pricing framework and tax compliance calendar. As you settle in, the goal is to take on greater ownership of recurring reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and selected statutory filings, with more day-to-day ownership over time.
