VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S
JOIN VIKING - and help build a safer world
Have you recently graduated from university or business school and have a strong interest in working with numbers – and the business decisions behind them?
If so, you might be our new Business Controller.
At VIKING Fire & Rescue, saving lives is at the heart of everything we do. As a world leader in firefighter protection, we work every day to keep emergency rescue services safe across the globe. See what we do at www.viking-fire.com
Do you want to join?
As a Business Controller, you will join a small and newly established Finance team in our Fire & Rescue Division in Esbjerg. The team is responsible for traditional finance activities while also acting as a key business partner to commercial, operations, and management.
You will play an important role in translating numbers into insights, and supporting decision-making across the business and challenging assumptions when the numbers don't support them.
Primary responsibilities
In this role, you will work both independently and in cooperation with others. The following tasks and projects can be expected:
- Drive the financial close, including variance analysis, KPI commentary, and management reporting that gives leadership a clear picture of performance
- Own the budget and rolling forecast process; consolidating inputs, challenging assumptions, and ensuring the numbers tell the right story
- Act as a hands-on business partner to commercial and operations leads, providing transparency on customer, product, and margin performance
- Support pricing decisions and tender business cases with scenario and margin analyses
- Build business cases for growth initiatives and strategic investments, and follow through with post-investment reviews
- Contribute to strategic and commercial projects, from go-to-market and channel or market analyses to cost-out and footprint reviews, translating ambiguous briefs into clear financial recommendations
- Develop clear, board-ready materials for leadership, steering committee, and management presentations
Your profile
We imagine that you:
- Hold a relevant academic degree in finance, economics, or business administration (e.g. MSc Economics & Business Administration., Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, or equivalent)
- Are early in your career – experience is not required, but motivation to learn and grow is essential
- Have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate financial data into business insights
- Are comfortable working with data and tools such as Excel (experience with SAP and Power BI is a plus)
- Take ownership of your tasks and thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
- Communicate clearly and collaborate easily across the organization
On a personal level, you are detail-oriented, structured, motivated by working with both numbers and the commercial side of the business and not afraid to have an opinion when you see something the numbers are telling you.
Since our corporate language is English, you have great English skills – both written and orally.
