Senior Finance Business Partner COO

DESMI

Senior Finance Business Partner COO Area at Desmi, Nørresundby

Shape the Global Operations Strategy & Drive Financial Transformation

Are you ready to bridge the gap between operational complexity and financial clarity? As our new Senior Finance Business Partner for the COO area, you will become a key driver in our journey toward a data-driven, high-performance finance organization.

We are looking for an experienced and operationally focused Senior Finance Business Partner to support our Chief Operations Officer (COO) and the global operations leadership team. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of finance and operations, providing senior-level financial insight and decision support across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and quality.

The Role

As a trusted co-pilot, you will play a critical role in driving the functional truth and strategic impact phases of our financial value chain. You will not only provide insights but drive the actions that lead to margin optimization, cost leadership, and improved Net Working Capital.

You will join a dedicated Business Partner team within FP&A, working in a triangle with the Commercial FBP and Group Controlling supported by our BI team. Your role is to drive end-to-end value chain optimization and ensure that financial insights translate directly into operational action across the DESMI Group.

While you are supported by a dedicated production controller, this role will require a hands-on approach to build frameworks and processes that don’t exist today. We are looking for an architect who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty to establish the functional truth.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a proactive challenger and advisor to the COO, ensuring financial discipline in all operational decisions across manufacturing, procurement, and logistics.
  • The Story Behind the Numbers: Own the narrative. You translate complex operational variances into clear, actionable insights, explaining "the why" behind performance fluctuations to enable agile management responses.
  • Performance Management: Lead the development of global KPIs and translate these into actionable financial insights.
  • Defining the Functional Truth: Take full ownership of the data foundation for the COO area together with Group Controlling, eliminating manual workarounds and ensuring data integrity.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Drive the budgeting and rolling forecast processes for the global operations, ensuring a tight link between strategy and execution.
  • ERP & Data Transformation: Play a leading role in the D365 F&O transformation, ensuring functional logic and automated reporting structures for the operations area.
  • Investment & CAPEX Governance: Build and validate business cases for operational investments, ensuring clear ROI and post-investment follow-up.
  • Value Chain Optimization: Identify and execute cost-out initiatives and optimize Net Working Capital (NWC) to maximize enterprise value.

What We Are Looking For

We believe impact is measured by results, not years. We are looking for a profile who can demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Change Agent Mindset: You thrive in the intersection of operations and transformation. You have a natural drive to challenge the status quo and the persistence required to implement structural changes.
  • Manufacturing Transformation: Experience from an international manufacturing environment, ideally from a role where you have helped transition a finance function from transactional reporting to strategic partnership.
  • Stakeholder Impact: You are a skilled communicator who can constructively challenge senior stakeholders and build followership across cultures.
  • Business understanding: You have a history of working "in the trenches" with production and supply chain leaders to identify and execute cost-out initiatives and productivity improvements.
  • Establishing Governance: Demonstrated the ability to define roles, responsibilities, and financial governance
  • Global Mindset: Experience driving process alignment across different geographical sites, balancing global standard with local operational needs.
  • Financial Mastery: Deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, supply chain dynamics, and how operational levers impact the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Language: You are fluent in English. Proficiency in Danish is considered an advantage.
