Position Summary

The Technical Services Manager leads base and line maintenance technical services and production planning coordination, ensuring all planned work is properly prepared with the required scope, resources, tools, and material. Acting as the primary interface to customers, OEMs, and suppliers, the role oversees the Technical Project Coordinator team to ensure efficient, compliant, and on-time project delivery. The role also supports commercial execution by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing in coordination with the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead the Technical Project Coordinator team, providing direction, support, and oversight across all base and line maintenance projects.
  • Support Maintenance Managers in defining scope of work and required procedures in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Continuously develop and improve production planning and work preparation processes to match the complexity of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Customer / OEM / Supplier Interface

  • Manage customer communication and maintain a clear work-ordering process to ensure accurate task definition and controlled communication to production teams.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and suppliers to support timely technical solutions and material availability.

Work Preparation & Workpack Control

  • Review work orders to confirm tasks fall within Skyway Technics’ approved capabilities and approvals.
  • Plan required manpower, tools, material, and facilities in line with workload and production plan.
  • Oversee creation and accuracy of work cards and work packs, ensuring tasks are correctly defined, standards are met, and competence requirements are considered.
  • Prepare complete work packages, highlight critical tasks, and release them to the assigned Dock Chiefs.
  • Monitor maintenance progress, coordinate with Dock Chiefs and customers, and adjust plans to maintain efficiency and delivery performance.
  • Review and report on planned versus actual manhours for all maintenance projects to ensure effective cost control, identify variances, and drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure correct completion, certification, and achieving work packs and ensure customer documentation is delivered on time.

Subcontracting, Quality & Compliance

  • Coordinate outsourced work and subcontractors, ensuring contractual requirements and quality standards are met.
  • Respond to quality findings from audits and occurrences and implement and track corrective actions in coordination with Quality.
  • Oversee competence assessments for Technical Services staff in coordination with the Training Manager.
  • Commercial / Invoicing
  • Coordinate with the Financial Controller to ensure invoicing is accurate, complete, and issued on time (e.g., correct scope, labour and material capture, and supporting documentation).

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, or a production-related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Strong knowledge of EASA Part-145 (or equivalent aviation regulations).
  • Proven leadership and coordination experience in a technical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience with maintenance planning systems (e.g., Pentagon, AMOS, TRAX).
  • High level of IT literacy, including MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of maintenance workflows.

Working Experience Requirements

  • + 5 years of experience with Part-145 from similar position at an MRO.
  • Proven track record in leading or coordinating base maintenance or technical services teams.
  • Hands-on experience with production planning, work pack preparation, and maintenance coordination.
  • Experience interacting with customers, OEMs, and regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with managing outsourced maintenance tasks and subcontractors.
