Senior Principal Program Manager
SimCorp A/S
WHO WE ARE
For over 50 years, we have worked closely with investment and asset managers to become the world's leading provider of integrated investment management solutions. We are 3,000 colleagues with a broad range of nationalities, education, professional experience, and backgrounds. SimCorp is an independent subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group. SimCorp is an equal opportunity employer committed to cultivating a culture where diverse perspectives and expertise are integrated in our everyday work.
ABOUT POSITION
Product Development at SimCorp is building a Strategic Program Management capability from the ground up. We are a 3,000-person fintech on a mission to be the world's leading investment management platform, and PD, our largest organisational unit at around 1,600 people, is where the work gets done. Programs and projects of real strategic consequence are already in motion. We are hiring a Program & Project Manager to drive them.
This role sits within the Strategy & Transformation team, working directly alongside the Senior Director of Strategy & Execution and the VP of Strategy & Transformation. You will take full ownership of a portfolio of cross-functional programs and projects spanning AI strategy execution, engineering tooling, process transformation, compliance, and platform migration. The work is varied, consequential, and visible at the most senior levels of PD.
If you are a hands-on program or project manager who thrives on complexity, builds structure in ambiguous environments, and gets things done across a matrixed organization , this is your role.
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
PD has direction and strong functional leadership. What it needs is disciplined execution on its most important cross-functional initiatives. This role provides exactly that: A dedicated program and project management resource who can hold accountability for outcomes, manage risks and dependencies, and keep senior stakeholders aligned and informed.
The Strategic Program Management capability is new. You will not just run programs. You will help define what good looks like inside PD. That means your imprint on how the function operates will be lasting .
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
-
Own delivery of a defined set of cross-functional programs and projects from the PD portfolio, with full accountability for outcomes, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communication.
-
Establish and maintain program governance for each assigned initiative: clear owners, dependencies, escalation paths, and progress reporting to PD senior leadership.
-
Coordinate across Product Management, Platform, and Application Engineering to resolve cross-functional dependencies and keep delivery on track.
-
Contribute to the PD Management System by making program status, risks, and decisions visible to the right people at the right time.
-
Partner with Change & Organisational Development where programs require shifts in ways of working or organisational behaviour .
-
Help shape how Strategic Program Management operates inside PD, contributing to standards, tools, and ways of working as the capability matures.
The current portfolio spans AI transformation and capability, platform migration and tooling, delivery model transformation, change and ways of working, and compliance and risk governance. These are not exploratory workstreams. They are live initiatives with delivery pressure, cross-unit dependencies, and direct visibility at CPTO and senior leadership level. Several are already in motion. Assignments will vary in scale and complexity, and the mix will evolve as PD's priorities do.
WHO YOU ARE
You are an experienced program or project manager who combines structured thinking with the interpersonal confidence to drive accountability in a matrixed organization . You know that getting things done in a matrixed organization depends on understanding what other teams need, not just what you need from them. That takes investment in relationships and just, not just process, and you invest in both.
You are comfortable holding multiple programs or projects simultaneously, switching between strategic and operational thinking as the situation demands. You produce crisp status updates and governance material without being asked twice, and you escalate early rather than late.
The combination of technical tooling, AI strategy, process optimization, and compliance work in this portfolio does not intimidate you. You do not need to be the subject matter expert. You need to be the person who ensures the right people are in the room and the work moves forward.
WHAT WE VALUE
-
6 or more years in program or project management roles, ideally within a technology or product development organisation .
-
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple workstreams and senior stakeholder engagement.
-
Experience across both structured program management (governance, planning, risk management) and delivery-focused project execution.
-
Familiarity with engineering tooling environments and the ability to coordinate technical migrations or platform implementations without being the technical lead.
-
Exposure to AI strategy, AI-enabled workflows, or SDLC transformation is an advantage.
-
Experience with compliance-related programs (GDPR, RoPA , ERM) is a plus.
-
Outstanding written and verbal communication. You produce crisp executive material and are comfortable in senior leadership forums.
-
A direct, structured, and collaborative working style. You build alignment without softening the hard conversations.
-
Degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field. Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is a plus.
