About the team

You'll join our IDE Proprietary Trading team in Aalborg, where we trade in the intraday power market. We work in a dynamic environment where market insights, analytical thinking, and close collaboration are key to making informed trading decisions. As part of the team, you'll work alongside experienced traders and gain insight into how professional energy trading operates.


About the role

As a Student Trader, you'll become an integrated part of the IDE Proprietary Trading team, assisting with the team's daily activities while building a solid understanding of the intraday power market. This role offers practical experience in a professional trading environment where you'll learn by contributing to real tasks and working closely with experienced colleagues.


You'll gradually take on more responsibility as you develop your understanding of the markets, trading processes, and the tools used by the team.


Key responsibilities

You'll contribute to the team's daily activities by assisting with operational and analytical tasks that help create the best possible foundation for trading decisions.


  • Assist traders with their daily activities
  • Monitor market developments and relevant market data
  • Prepare analyses and data used in the trading process
  • Help maintain and improve analytical tools and processes
  • Collaborate closely with traders and colleagues across the business
  • Contribute to ad hoc tasks that support the team's daily operations

What we are looking for

We're looking for a motivated student who enjoys solving complex problems, has a strong analytical mindset, and is eager to learn in a collaborative environment.


Must have

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant university programme, such as economics, mathematics, physics, computer science, data science, or another quantitative field
  • Strong analytical skills and an interest in working with data
  • Some programming experience, for example Python, R, MATLAB, or similar
  • A structured and proactive approach to your work
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills


Nice to have

  • Experience with data analysis or statistical modelling
  • An interest in energy or financial markets
  • Previous exposure to power trading is an advantage, but not a requirement
