Ux/ui designer
BEC
This position is based at our friendly office in Roskilde and you will join our Digital Channels department. Digital Channels is responsible for the development of online and mobile banking solutions across all business areas in BEC such as investment, pension, housing and daily finances. The UX Design unit is part of the Refinement team in Digital Channels domain focusing on new business initiatives e.g. Digital Bank 2.0 with five agile teams that develop online and mobile banking solutions for the banks (both for bank clients & advisors).
In this role you translate the needs of the banks and their customers into coherent solutions across channels. You own the design problem end to end – from understanding the underlying need, to shaping the concept, to validating that the solution actually works for people. You sit at the centre of business and end user, working closely with Product owners, development teams, BEC customers and your UX colleagues to make decisions that hold up over time rather than one feature at a time. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Camilla Fremming Hansen.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
- You take solutions across native and responsive web from first concept through development and final testing, staying close to the outcome the whole way
- You frame problems, build wireframes and prototypes, present and defend your reasoning, test with users and document the decisions behind the solution
- You make sure our client-facing solutions meet accessibility (WCAG AA) requirements and hold to our design guidelines
- You plan and run user research, turn insights into clear recommendations, and let evidence guide what gets built
- You contribute to the continuous evolution of our BEC Design System, treating it as shared product infrastructure rather than a one-off deliverable
- You take part in design reviews, both presenting your own work and giving sharp, constructive feedback on others’
To succeed you will have:
- You have 5+ years of design experience and work fluently in Figma
- You have designed cross-platform solutions (web, iOS, Android)
- You have shaped larger, complex systems – e.g. case-processing tools or complex self-service solutions – and can keep them coherent as they grow
- You have hands-on experience meeting accessibility (WCAG AA) standards
- You have created and maintained design systems and understand them as products in their own right
- You have worked with Google Material Design (v2 or v3)
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience in FinTech sector
- Working with white label solutions skills
- You think in terms of outcomes, not just deliverables – driven by understanding complex requirements and translating them into simple, coherent design solutions
- You are well-organised, independent and have the confidence to own your work and drive it forward
- You thrive in a team where collaboration, sparring and continuous feedback are paramount
