Head of Communications Denmark and Germany

GlobalConnect

    COPENHAGEN HYBRID

Do you want to shape external communication in a business where connectivity, digital infrastructure and security matter more every day?

At GlobalConnect, we are looking for an experienced communications professional to strengthen our external communication in Denmark and Germany. In this role, you will be close to decisions, close to the business, and close to important communication moments that can affect people, companies and our reputation.

You will become a trusted point of contact for Danish media, support communication across Denmark and Germany, and take the lead on processes for issue management and crisis communication.

What you need to succeed

  • Strong experience with media handling, press work, issue management and crisis communication
  • Documented experience with strategic and proactive media work in Denmark, including building relationships with journalists, identifying relevant angles, pitching stories and creating media impact
  • Experience from a business connected to critical infrastructure
  • Fluency in Danish and English, with strong storytelling skills and the ability to make complex topics easy to understand
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate across stakeholders, support top management and engage with subject matter experts

About the role and the team

You will report to Rikke, Director, Communications, who is based in Copenhagen, and support her with group communication activities. The communication team consists of seven people including this new role in Denmark, which has previously been handled by external consultants.

The team works across Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Germany, covering internal communication, group communication and external communication. You will have a key role in strengthening our external presence in Denmark, while also coordinating communication activities connected to Germany, which are handled by an external consultant in Hamburg.

This is a broad role where planned communication work and urgent ad hoc tasks will both be part of your day. You will work with media, internal experts, group-level management, the German communication setup, NOC and infrastructure units.

What you’ll be working on

  • Act as the main point of contact for Danish media and handle reactive press inquiries
  • Manage the press phone and support communication related to incidents in Denmark, which may occasionally occur outside normal working hours
  • Turn relevant stories from across GlobalConnect into strong media opportunities in Denmark
  • Translate and adapt communication from other countries for the Danish market
  • Coordinate content, stories and messaging with the German communication setup
  • Lead issue and crisis communication processes together with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Support group-related communication, including the annual report etc
  • Contribute to increased engagement and clear positioning on LinkedIn

Who we are looking for

You are an experienced communicator with sound judgement, excellent storytelling skills and the ability to stay calm when situations are urgent or unclear. You know how to build trust with media, senior leaders and internal experts, and you are comfortable managing several priorities at the same time.

You are motivated by doing communication work that matters. This role will suit someone who wants to be close to decisions, protect and build reputation, and work in a field where connectivity, data and security are becoming increasingly important.

A strong network within Danish media is an advantage. German language skills are also a plus, but not a requirement.

Does this sound like you? If so, we would love to hear from you.
