Product Compliance Specialist - Make Compliance Practical

ABENA

Do you want to play a role where structure, compliance, and business understanding go hand in hand? Are you motivated by turning complex regulations into practical solutions that make everyday work easier for others?

If so, you might be the Product Compliance Specialist we are looking for at ABENA.

ABENA operates across several business areas, with healthcare as our primary focus, alongside non-healthcare related categories such as Waste Management, Paper, and Cleaning. Each area comes with its own compliance requirements, customer expectations, and maturity levels. This role exists because compliance has become a key enabler of our business. Customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders increasingly expect well‑structured documentation that can be delivered accurately and on time.

Your task is to ensure that ABENA has the right compliance and product data in place and that it works in practice. You will work hands‑on with documentation, product safety requirements, and legislative follow‑up, acting as a pragmatic supporter of the business rather than a controller. The value of the role lies in translating complex compliance requirements into clear documentation, practical processes, and usable answers for colleagues and customers.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensure collection, maintenance and quality control of compliance documentation for our products
  • Support the business by delivering documentation packages to customer contacts when required
  • Translate legislative requirements from Global Compliance into practical documentation and processes
  • Follow up on product safety requirements, including risk assessments for products where required
  • Help establish and document missing processes to create transparency and structure
  • Support and structure compliance and product data in systems

Success in this role starts with creating structure. From there, you know how to turn complex documentation and regulatory requirements into simple, compliant processes that make everyday work easier for your colleagues. By doing so, you allow teams to focus their time and energy on what matters most to them.

What we hope you bring

  • Experience from a commercial compliance, quality or regulatory role in a business context is an advantage
  • A structured mindset and the ability to create structure
  • The ability to turn complex requirements into practical solutions
  • An understanding of how compliance supports sales, customers and operations
  • A collaborative approach – you succeed by helping others succeed
  • The patience and persistence to work with tasks that take time and coordination

Your Team, Our Culture and Values

You will work closely with colleagues across several parts of the organization, including Compliance, Waste Management, Cleaning, Paper, and the commercial organization. Collaboration is essential—both to understand different needs and to develop solutions that work in practice.

This is not a role anchored in one fixed team. Instead, you will be part of several cross-functional constellations and work across many interfaces throughout the organization. This gives you a broad network, significant insight into the business, and a high degree of freedom in how you structure your daily collaboration and working relationships.

Your leader is Head of Purchasing Nicko Rasmussen Olesen, who describes his leadership style as follows:

“I give you room to work in a way that fits both your role and your life - this is not a lack of interest, but a conscious choice. We align through monthly check-ins, and among those, I am available when you need me. I also expect you to reach out proactively. The value you create together with your colleagues matters more to me than my individual assessment. Strong collaboration and mutual respect are the foundation of how we succeed.”

At ABENA, you join a global company with a strong purpose: to make a real difference in the everyday lives of people around the world. We combine professionalism with a warm, people-first culture where collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement are necessary parts of everyday life. We take pride in delivering high-quality work with integrity, guided by our core values of trust, fairness, and cooperation. These values shape how we lead, support one another, and create meaningful impact for our customers and communities.
