Your Role And Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a skilled Head of Sales to lead and develop our sales activities within ABB Energy Industry’s portfolio in our Automation Energy Industries business in Denmark, across all industries within our focus.

In this role, you will define and execute the long-term sales strategy, ensure target achievement, and build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in identifying market opportunities, guiding your team, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

As Head of Sales, you will become part of the Energy Industries management team in Denmark, collaborating closely with colleagues across Sales, Service, and Operations. Together, you will help shape and define the strategic direction for the business and ensure that commercial strategies are effectively translated into high-quality solutions that create real customer value.

You will be part of a broader global ABB organization and regional HUB, where you collaborate across borders and draw on international expertise, tools, and capabilities. This gives you a strong platform to succeed and adds an international dimension to the role.

A key success factor in this position is your ability to lead across the entire value chain. At ABB, sales success is closely linked to strong execution in operations and service – and vice versa. You will therefore play an important role in ensuring alignment and collaboration across functions to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers. Indeed, the sales function includes market & account development, front end sales, bid management and technical advisory capabilities.


Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Define how the Local Division will achieve allocated sales targets and implement metrics to monitor team performance
  • Identify new business opportunities in new and emerging industries and develop plans to capture them, including organizational development
  • Support sales teams in reaching volume and product mix goals, and challenge
  • Participate in negotiations of key customer contracts
  • Monitor market pricing and collaborate with product management
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through feedback and continuous improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to reach shared goal
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across the value chain


Qualifications For The Role

  • Relevant commercial or technical education combined with sales leadership experience
  • Experience managing teams and delivering on revenue targets
  • Ability to analyze markets and identify business opportunities
  • Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of sales processes and performance management
  • Ability to manage risks and make informed business decisions
  • Fluent in English and comfortable working in an international environment

You will be based at our office in Ballerup alongside many of your colleagues and team members. In addition, we offer the possibility of working from home a few days a week. Since you support customers across Denmark, you can expect some time on the road, as well as occasional international travel.
